NYR wouldn't move Zib or Kreider for anything except another full rebuild, and I don't think Drury would ever do that under the current ownership group unless things get a lot worse.

We aren't cup favorites but the team has won 65% of it's games this season. They aren't going to start selling off core pieces as the cap begins to rise.

Kreider's NMC becomes a modified NTC on July 1. He can be moved, and you can best believe teams will want him. Zib has a NMC, so that will be tougher to move, I agree, but if a guy knows he isn't wanted, he will waive for someplace.
Reverse logic. If a guy we have is really wanted why would we trade him when he is one of our most productive players, There is a lot of dead wood on this team even within the younger group. Honestly one guy they should consider trading is FC assuming he comes back because even if he does IMO he is one hit away from retirement. Not willing to pin the future of this team on a FC when he is a huge question mark in terms of being a LT player.

At this pt K is not part of da problem and should not be moved.
Z I would be more receptive to deal, but has full nmc

If we need cap, Trouba will get moved to recover most of his 8 per

bread has 2 full seasons after this, full nmc
He is close enuf to next deal to recognize he is not gonna sniff anywhere near 11.6m+ again, and we should not offer him a good # to stay given hard cap forces choices and he is not more valuable than his salary going elsewhere on roster.
Therefore, at some pt next yr, we should be able to move bread

Disagree
Chyi could be forced to hang em up, or he could hang on like Ekblad

The wear and tear argument you properly make is best applied to Lindgren
He has so much cumulative wear and tear already, like I said prior, he should have been moved earlier when his value was more

And who is trading for Chytil knowing that?

Guys that I don't think will be moved in the next 18 months- Zib, Kreider, Panarin

Guys I think might be moved in the next 6-18 months- Goodrow, Lindgren, Shesterkin.

Unsure- Trouba, Miller, Chytil

Let's be real, Edmonton's ship was not righted by Knoblauch imposing some amazing tactics. It was righted by Stuart Skinner actually starting to catch some pucks, and Connor McDavid started doing McDavid things. Woodcroft was a pretty good coach, one of the best win% in Edmonton history.

If Shesty would be on his Vezina level, or even slightly below that, we wouldn't be having these type of discussions at all.
I know, I was being incredibly sarcastic. Coaches always look good when their goalies make the saves they need to make. For whatever reason, Igor simply isn’t that right now, and the team overall has been mired by bad, silly mistakes.

It’s their first really down stretch this year, and it’ll say a lot about this group with how they play their way out of it. The coaches need to be better too.

If Zibanejad gave even a modicum of shits, this team could be unstoppable. 1C that has no guts, no will, guy is a wet noodle. Has so much talent but no heart.
Pretty hair though if you are into that . Some benchings or a good swift kick in the arse might spark him a bit or he asks for a trade ! Some players like being coddled.....it is time to remove the training wheels off these guys . Make men out of them......countdown to Torts LOL.....

Zib (age 30, $8.5 AAV) and Miller (age 23, $3.87 AAV) for Eriksson Ek (age 26, $5.25 AAV) and Brodin (age 30, $6.0 AAV).

Reunites Zib with Zucc and sends Miller back home. Opens up a PP1 spot for Laf on the right. Move Bread to Mika’s spot on the left. Who says no?
Zib and Kreider say no, and we all know they call the shots on this team.

Are you saying Pitlick is as good as Perry?

Perry is an NHL player still, Pitlick is horrible.
No I'm not commenting on who is better.....I'm just leery about Perry because of the Chicago situation. The psyche of this team is fragile as it is and I just don't think adding Perry to the mix is a good idea.

That's another issue that needs to be addressed...can't really expect to go far in the playoffs with that.

Question for the capologists out there: With all the recent "just in case" call ups in the past few months, I was wondering if the Rangers are accruing any cap space. I was looking at cap friendly and saw this:

CURRENT CAP SPACE: $3,540,833
DEADLINE CAP SPACE: $3,540,833

Anyone know how they came up with those figures?

Thanks much.
