We need a couple forwards who are capable of changing the direction of a game. One for the top six, one for the bottom six. An impact scorer and a shitkicker.
Sad thing is, Kreider is that type of player, when he gets pissed he can start rolling over the other teams with his size and physical play and wake the team up, problem is he RARELY turns on that gear.

Don’t get me started on Kreider not playing to his size and strength. He was never the same after taking out Price. Not sure who is responsible for that.

But yeah, he could also bring the clutch goals in the past.

That's all fine and good, but then people can't complain when they say the team is too vanilla.
Last I checked, there aren’t any points awarded for how many majors a team gets during a game.
The objective of a game is to score goals and prevent them from scoring more than your team.
We have both dynamic talents on offense, and defense.
We had an excuse last week about the flu, that excuse is gone.
We have one major injury but it’s a middle 6 forward not Panarin.

the dynamic offensive talents need to play like that.
I missed the 3rd last night, but Laf was buzzing for periods 1-2 and I legit think he should flip w Kakko for a bit and see if that line can maybe regain some offense.
Kreider isn’t a creator of offense, Mika should be the creator and has had looks, but is also gripping way too tight.
Panarin has been Panarin for this season, but as the oilers have learnt over the years 1 person isn’t enough.

Yes... Points win games...

But it seems that every other team is of the opinion, "they can't call everything."

And you know what? They are right. Dirty teams make it very hard to get points. How many times have we seen that this season?

People talking about DeAngelo, Reaves, Lemieux, etc

All those players stink. No one disagrees with having players who are willing to stir shit up if they’re actually good.

What are we doing here?
Who are these players? Are we getting a Tkachuk? A Wilson? That type of player is rare and cost a fortune to trade for. Even a below average player like Jeannot cost tampa a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th round pick, because he "tough" and Tampa thought he was better than he is.

Perry would be the closest thing to someone like that and he isn't very good anymore but fits the bill. But then half the board will cry about him too. Avery was this type of player for us when he showed some skill for 2 years and half the fanbase hated him. You can't win in NY Ranger land.

I, for one, am very happy there is no cap space and that means no stupid trades. I think this team can play, they are just in a rough stretch and I also think that has some fans wearing the opposite of rose colored glasses. Shit covered glasses maybe?

I don't think we played bad in the last 2 games. I feel bad for Jones who needs reps and when he played those games earlier he was getting better but it's tough to come in cold.

Ride out this season. Should be a lot of young legs ready next year. Could have all of Edstrom, Othmann and berard in the lineup. That will likely help with the low energy we see sometimes.

I would explore an Igor trade in the offseason.

The only thing that bothers me about last night's loss is that bonino will likely get back in. Haha

I’d be intrigued by Trenin and why he would cost to extend honestly.

The more I see of this team the more I think Drury sees this as the last kick at the can for this group, adds modestly at the deadline, perhaps with the thought that whoever he adds can be a longer term piece, and then makes harder decisions this offseason should they falter.

I would go for one of Tarasenko/Zuccarello/Vatrano/Perron for the top six, and one of Perry or Reaves for the bottom six. If Reaves, at 50% because of his remaining term.

It's definitely a "last kick" because I'm almost certain we're going to see a few big changes come the off season. I don't see him making any big moves at the deadline. It will be interesting to see what he can do without retaining a lot of salary and/or trading draft picks.

At 50% he's near league minimum. Even when he doesn't fight or put up points, he's consistently in the league's top hitters.
he’s also one of the worst defensive players in hockey. Let’s replace vesey for some who throws 5-10 more hits a game and start giving up 3-4 extra goals a game.

I hope you’re assuming Chytil comes back as a C or else we’d be rolling out Bonino on the 3C. I like the Tarasenko and Perry ideas but we need another C.
