I wouldn’t sit Vesey for Reaves.
Great.
I wouldn’t sit bonino for Reaves.

Reaves is too slow for his hits to have any meaningful impact.
We have cuylle who actually does hit hard and forces turnovers.
We have Kakko who forces turnovers effectively.
We have Laf who has talent and throws hits, and likes to stir things up but is smart enough not to take himself out of a game for 5 minutes.
We have Trouba who absolutely can clear in front of the net and makes guys play with their heads up.

We have the physicality necessary.

It's time to make them uncomfortable , if they can't handle that this season is over anyway.
If bringing in Corey Perry is going to blow up the locker room, then this team isn’t winning shit regardless.
Perry is a leader who would alter the locker room dynamic, for better or for worse. I would at least bring in the other leaders for their input.

I don't disagree with much of this, but

1) I would sit Bonino for Reaves, at least some of the time.
2) Reaves' hits still change games
3) If we have the physicality, we aren't showing it when it matters.

On Perry, I would bring the team leaders in and ask them if they want him or not.
At this point I wouldn't give two shits about what they want.
If Perry wants to play here, a spot has to be found for him.
Now, how to fill the impotence on RW.

I like guys like Ryan Lomberg or Michael Pizetta ((one of) in a Pitlick or Bonino spot.
Goodrow getting bought out in the summer apparently.

Have, and have been unwavering in my support for a shitstirer who can skate on the 4th line.

The NYRs are the friendliest team in the league.

Mika prob invites the opposing teams first star over for eggplant parm after each game

Don't be mean to them though Rangers fans. They may need time off for it.

We've had those players, DeAngelo, Lemieux, Smith, Reaves(?), but Drury doesn't like that hockey so he quickly trades them.

Gorton exiled DeAngelo
Gorton traded Lemieux
Smith left as a UFA
Reaves was traded for by Drury… then traded by him.

So 2 were either traded or cut by his predecessor, one left as a UFA and the last one was added by the current GM and then moved to open up space/get rid of an ineffective body (and that’s what he is.)

He also signed Goodrow to his ridiculous deal. If anything he likes this kind of player too much.

Drury broke our cap with the Goodrow contract. It’s on him to fix it. Find a team that will take the whole hit with a sweetener no better than a 3rd or Jones, AND that Goodrow won’t block the trade to.

If Drury does that, I’ll forgive him for Goodrow. I’ll still bitch about Buchnevich and Nemeth though.

Our two biggest problems are we desperately miss chytil to lengthen this lineup and drive puck possession. Having brodzinki and Bonino centering the third line literally all season is a nightmare.

And Igor can’t make a save. We are 32nd in all situations save percentage. And that’s not on Quick. That’s Igor. That should be a strength is a GLARING weakness instead.

So while I’d love to rearrange the D pairs and I’d love to get rid of wheeler. We really need chytil back and we really need Igor to stop a f***ing puck at some point this year

If Toronto wanted to trade Reaves with 50% retained I’d actually consider it but not to get him in the NHL. I’d tell him he would be going to the AHL to be a leader down there.

Goodrow has a modified clause -- so there would be no reason to negotiate with the 15 teams on his "no" list

It’s not a rough stretch when half the season has been like this. People on here talk about Kreider breaking NYR records like that makes him Mr Ranger. Gimme a break, that shows how pathetic this organization has been for almost a century.

bern's blueprint on main board
all ?s answered!!!!!!!!!
unfortunate that despite reactions from highest possible positive to negative, this was closed, w'o mod identifying who pulled the quick trigger

that said, bern remains unbowed and unbroken

some variation of what I posted -- to get youth for youth = foundation pieces -- is needed if we are to break out from where we are and not have more of the same

To me, it just looks like teams got tape on the Rangers and know how to play them now. And the Rangers aren't getting bailed out by their goaltending
Exactly....Rangers have been susceptible to heavy forecheck and speed for years now. Lavvy's hands are tied -- yes, a lot of their "parts" are barely NHL calibre (if at all), the options on the farm are no better and all those albatross clauses aren't helping.

Like I keep posting here, Goody was very effective until hus foot was broken. He came back too soon and has been a shell of that player since.

I was on the Buch needed to be moved due train due to cap constriction and too was very underwhelmed with the return. Don't know what the other offers were, but Chris picked the wrong one.

We all got that right here. Though I admit, I liked Sammy more than most, watching a lot of Blues games and cup run.

Nemeth decided to suck at hockey the minute he signed his deal here. Wasn't he supposed to be some kind of mentor for Nils?

RW is so anemic on this team. I've brought my "Yay Rangers!" levels down to predictable expectations of them getting ground and pounded into dust made of balsa wood and spit from K' Andres quivering mouth.

Blame all the coaches we want. Tik tac toe passes don't win playoff series.

I suggest we need to armchair GM accordingly.

If I’m Drury, I’m not spending assets for this team this year. Not unless they turn it around and string together some wins and soon. We aren’t one or two pieces away here.
The dangerous thing here (which to be fair to Drury is not entirely his fault) is they are dangerously close to locking into this roster. They need to be looking hard at moving out these guys that are going to need a 3rd contract. Lindgren and Igor stick like sore thumbs in this regard
