I mean you can basically do Lindgren and Jones for Gostisbehere and Perron if you want to put the chips in. Detroit would need to retain like 15%ish on Gostisbehere but the cap is close enough. Rangers let both walk in offseason and get some breathing room too.

Not sure I love it, but pretty sure the Rangers get better. Problem is the Rangers will still need a their Chytil contingency Center, and would probably need another Dman with term somewhere in the offseason (unless they are trying to bring back Gostisbehere and/or spend a chunk of new found cap savings there)

Maybe? Really wish Rangers had a Dman on the farm who was ready to step up. They do not

I do not trust Chytil in the top six. Let him play bottom six, less pressure. If he forces the issue, terrific. But until then, let him stew a bit.

Lafreniere scores the goal yesterday and one of the Capitals players hits him from behind. Wilson. The Rangers don't respond. This is your opportunity. Punch Wilson in the nose. Push the face shield into his nose. Rip off the shield. I am sick of this team. Start some scrums. Let's do something people. Nothing.

The Rangers aren't winning 4 playoff rounds with this D. One playoff round might be too much.

He looks better if you take out this year instead (he was horrendous this year in the time he played) but I'm still not getting out of bed for it.

I'm never interested in guys being priced on fluff over results, whether that fluff is grit or nice goals.

It's like what Pete says about Johnny Damon in Moneyball. He's the flavor of the market right now for reasons and he's just not that good.

There are results. He's a back to back 60+ point center at the ages of 20 and 21. He's currently injured and has played on one of the worst teams in the league his whole NHL career. He's only 22.

He had 48 even strength points last year.

Plus he was running Lindgren all night. It was a 1-goal game against a division rival. We lost the last meeting. Wilson was trying to draw a penalty. Have to score more goals if you want to send a message like that.

Our success depends on having a capable 3rd line, like we did when we went to the conference finals. Management wants to keep Kreider and Zib together, i don't but its what is gonna happen. I'm not as worried about a top 6 winger, Kakko and Lafreniere can handle those spots decently, I'm more worried about what happens if we don't get Chytil back and we also need someone with pace to complete a 3rd line of Cuylle Chytil and young fast forechecker with some skill, i can't for the life of me figure out why Berard hasn't been given a shot there, he would be 10 times more effective than the guys we have and he wouldn't have the burden of being a scorer like Othmann to have success. If not, then Vesey but then we need a guy who can push the pace on the 4th line. I was blasted for it early in the year but i still believe there is room for Rempe on this team for multiple reasons.

Why are the Rangers adding another LW in Perron? And I love the player.

I've been contemplating this for a bit but the issue with the Kreider/Zibanejad combination is they are literally scared to attack the middle of the ice. They control the puck but if it's not a rush chance, they are good just keeping the puck on the outside. What about putting Perry, assuming he would sign in NY, on that line? Let those guys cycle forever and then have Perry who relishes getting to the front of the net and causing chaos?

Kreider was a massive 5 v 5 play driver up until last year. Zib is rubbing off on him too much.

Give me these lines for 5 games and see how they go

Chytil centers the 1st line if he comes back

Trochek slides down to the Kreider-Kakko line.

Zib needs a play driver on his line to be successful. Cuylle is just good enough at this point at finishing that the line could work well.

Bonino out and Edstrom in his place once everyone's healthy. Wheeler gets shot into the sun. Acquire a bottom six rental with a motor a la Derek Dorsett at the deadline. Go to war. A lot of "maybe's" in this however.

I don't know. Perron has fallen off a wagon. He can still pop those in on the power play, but he's not getting that here. He's got 3 goals 5 on 5. It doesn't seem like getting Perron will help that much.

Because his line plays inline hockey. Generating chances off the rush is great, but you can't only expect to get your scoring opportunities like that. They continuously go for those one and done chances which just turn the puck over, often not even registering a puck on net. He's a large blame for that. They don't play hockey in the other teams zone. They don't tire out a defense by cycling, moving around, or moving the puck to get players out of position. Maybe it's because if you blow on Zibanejad he misses a loose puck in the boards. Whatever the reason, they don't do anything that isn't one and done.

Beard would probably have a similar time to Othmann. Same with Sykora. All aren't ready for the pace and millisecond quickness.

Edstrom is the guy who should be up. Got hurt at a really bad time. It was week to week but no one said how long. I'd throw him on the third line with Cullye and let them go to work a bit.

The issue is catch-22 now because once Pitlick is back, that's the "complete" lineup sans Chytil. The team isn't going to waive Brodz now.
