Concussions aside, I would not move Chytil for Zegras. That is my only concern with him. Chytil is the superior player right now.

Even with that being said, Zegras is not the player I want at center for my team. His defensive game leaves a lot to be desired.

If you are getting him to be a winger? Sure, he's done this plenty at lower levels. Idk if it is right or left wing, and we know what the left side is currently.
 
If it’s an off season trade, I wonder if you can do something around Lindgren.

That’s about as much as I’d really be willing to do. He’s a good player who gets way too much love because he pulls off a Michigan every now and then.
 
Zegras just got injured, bad ankle injury. Nevermind the trade.

So does Jack Hughes but he can play for my team any day. I hate the Zegras fancy trick shots but I’d take him any day because he just needs to mature. I wonder if the Ducks would consider Kakko + for Zegras at some point. Ducks have a lot of young players but do they have anyone who’s like Kakko?

I would and I'm not that high on zegras. Id go out and find another center as well

Dickenson is still a guy id target
 
Viable expiring C targets seem to be Dickinson, Monahan, Johnson, Henrique, and Roslovic. Who do you fancy or rate these guys?
 
If a center is available and as much as II like Zegras, I rather overpay for McTavish but bet he is not available unless its a massive overpay and id consider it
 
Zegras has put up 2 60 point season by 22 and his teammates have been mostly terrible.

Trade for him in the offseason, he grew up a ranger fan….hope it’s fox 2.0

I would do something around Shesty for Byfield
but less than 50-50 Ks go all in and shorten their window slightly

Zegras could be next best option
overpay acceptable in the circumstances
BUT
currency, currency
 
Don't even put a DMan in a trade talk for Zegras.

1. They need more offense.
2. Ducks farm is loaded in the backend.

why ANA
Ducks get an elite Vez level G to replace Gibson, who can be sold to the highest bidder -- presum Oil.
Zeg is more valuable as a pivot, but Oth + Syk are not chopped liver
Oth = young replacement for Vats
Goodrow overpaid half to a mil but useful championship experience and can be flipped after tutoring young uns
Bonino otherwise useless but 1 imp skill besides blocking shots; very good on FOs and this I can see Duck braintrust finding useful for half a yr
ANA drafted well, embarrassment of riches on D, can afford to include Helleson [who was a 2nd rounder] + their own 2nd this yr and the 3rds

Rangers gamble Garand available sooner than later
Quick + Domingue immediately, give Gar cup o coffee +
Zegras = young pivot they need
Helleson = righty RD they need for RD depth also if cap forces them to move Trouba

they effed themselves and have to forfeit a 1st over next 3 yrs
getting high talent w/Fr background is huge marketing for Ontario province, competes w/Habs
Pinto is getting rid of a headache, not sure he gets to Rs roster this yr
Wheeler + Vesey included b'c someone on our board said Sens wanted to add vets to show youth how to play

this is a crapshoot, there is no way to know who the best player will be here when all is said and done, but even w/LaF now fully obviously skating well, contributing, etc, this is a chance to lock up a possible top pair LD for 8 yrs after this

The Zegras ask would be for K'Andre Miller to be involved. They aren't going to want Kraapo Kakko or Fil "gone home to rehabilitate" Chytil.

They traded a young defenseman because they’re stacked in that position, much like they are at C. Anaheim’s positional weakness is at W. That’s what they got in Gauthier, and that’s what they’d look for more of if moving a C.
