Trocheck too. That signing completely negates the Buch deal to me considering we couldnt have afforded it if we signed Buch
Yeah. No problem with moving Buch. We didn’t get a good return but - also - the guy we got had his leg torn up by a cheap shot artist. C’est la vie.

All of these podcasts mention the Goodrow trade to TB in 2020 as a reason why teams should trade a first round pick for a role player. If any of these teams want a role player like Goodrow, they should call Drury.

Would the Rangers be interested in Colton Sissons? Two more years remaining. $2,857,143.

I’d love Sissons. Rather go after someone who can do something in the playoffs regardless of their regular season. Sissons fits the mold. I do like Gourde from the Kraken too, but doubt they can afford both.

Need more tenacious players as well.

Sissons has not scored a goal in the playoffs in his last 29 games.

I like Yanni Gourde so let me preface what I'm about to say with that.

54 games played
21 points total, 17 at 5v5
17:46 average TOI
47.6 FO%
1.7 CF Rel
1.3 p/60 @ 5v5

He's 32 years old and has 1 more year at a pretty hefty $5.167m.

I'm not saying he's not a useful player. But what I am saying is that I wouldn't be offering high end picks or prospects for him. This could be a downward swing for a guy who is 32 and plays a pretty physical game @ 5'9.

Honestly, if I were Seattle and I could find a team willing to take him for something reasonable, I might consider trading him to open up that $5.167m in cap space this off-season.

He's another guy that the name screams great add but you got to be worried that the years of deep playoff runs and getting older might be a player you wait and see next year if he'll be a good add.

Watch him play. He is still a big PITA who is a problem out there for the other team. Plays C.

Certainly a risk though

We always want to champion free speech.
Therefore, censorship is not an antidote for stupidity. Howev,
all speech is properly subject to honest critique, based on objective analysis.

Accordingly, everybody pls outreach to this site and tell them
we do not appreciate our intelligence being insulted by
1. general bs that trading KK makes sense
2. specific bs that these 3 locations/targets are worthwhile.

BLS, capitulate to bern's demand
stop giving away youth for vets
stop bs deals for KK to make clickbait
fy for even doing so in the first place

For as much as we need a top-6 RW, you want to talk about letting some quality RWs slip through our fingers:

JT Miller - gave away
Frank Vatrano - didn't attempt to re-sign, since it was cost-prohibitive
Patrick Kane - didn't attempt to re-sign, since we weren't interested
Pavel Buchnevich - gave away
Mats Zuccarello - miss you, buddy

I'm still mad about Amonte

Anyone thinkk Edstrom or Rempe are trade bait? We didnt think Barron would get dealt and played some games before traded. I hope I am wrong.

Doubtful. Mollie Walker said on the NY Post podcast that Laviolette was the driving force behind Cuylle and Edstrom becoming regulars. I think they are a big part of the solution and the team knows it

Move the team to Utah. The Smith's will be good owners. Arizona is a very good market. The NHL should consider giving Arizona an expansion team if they can get the new building built. Find a good owner. Does Ishbia want to own a hockey team?
It's proven for 28 years it's not a good market. It's a fair weather fan base that couldn't be more indifferent toward them. Bad arena attendance is one thing, but they average less than 1200 viewers a game for their TV ratings...in a market of 5 million, that's deplorable. Yes that number is correct...1200 viewers.

The posters here in Forum 40 are a loyal bunch, but the teams' biggest problem is there isn't enough of them. Nobody gives a shit about hockey there. I don't see the point in hanging on anymore.

gourde would be great, i do have some concerns with him starting a downward spiral though

i would not give up a first for him though, as a matter of fact i wouldnt give up a first unless the player coming back is young (think zegras)

with that being said if i was drury i target someone that can slot in on the first line RW, again im thinking zegras or another young player that may need a change of scenery

for someone of that ilk (zegras, or another young player) any prospect not named perrault would be available in my mind

If Gourde can be had for just a 1st, I feel great about our chances. Reunite him with Goodrow and throw Edstrom on the other wing and Lavi can roll 4 lines that can score and defend. The D has settled in since the break and it’s less of a concern. I’m fine with Vesey on with the Wonder Twins. There’s familiarity there

I'd wonder about Seattle doing a package deal for Gourde and Eberle (50% retention on him) with us offloading Goodrow in the deal.

I'd easily give up 2025 1st, 2024 second and Jones/Robertson for that.

Kreider Zibanejad Eberle
Panarin Trocheck Lafreniere
Cuylle Gourde Kakko
Vesey Brodzinski Edstrom/Rempe
