get Duclair. Let Kreider and Zibs be 'responsible' and have Duclair be the home run threat

a 3rd+? how much would he cost

Duclair sucks

I don’t know if he sucks. He has warts but adds elements we could use.

He’d be Vatrano type of add. He’d add some speed and goal scoring at even strength

He also shouldn’t cost much

He sucks
He def sucks
Maybe no gagging and swallowing after
but
he def sucks

also stop giving away pickson rentals
show some effin discipline
stop

His skillset requires him to cheat for offense. Im not interested in that in a playoff series. He is also butter soft. There are better options.

People want the big fish but don't want to pay the big prices. These are the players you get when you don't want to sell the farm. They're going to have their warts. I don't want to give up a ton at the deadline but guys that we can retain I'd splurge a little more for.

Tomasino is back in the minors, maybe he's a guy they would part with. Zibanejad's line needs a RW. If Chytil is out past this season try him at 3C. Barry Trotz said the Preds want to keep Tommy Novak. They're just outside a playoff spot so I don't know if they're going to sell. He's a pending UFA and still yet to sign. They'll have to make a decision soon. I don't see him getting a huge contract so he'd be a guy you'd look to re-sign.

Sharangovich has played really solid hockey this year. He's played a little center and wing. Again, another guy I'd try to slot in on that Mika line. 3C if need be. His contract is ideal. He'd be a sneaky good target

People have mentioned Hayes before. Another good contract. Don't know if they'll be selling

In Arizona Bjugstad and Kerfoot are both guys that can play center or wing. McBain isn't a bad target, I just don't know how much of an upgrade he actually is

Kubalík got lost on the depth chart in Ottawa this year. Stuck on the 4th line now. He's always been a solid middle six winger. He could be like Vatrano in the sense that he's become an afterthought and bought for pennies on the dollar. I know his numbers don't jump off the page this year but he'd boost our right side. Mathieu Joseph's utility makes a lot of sense for us. His speed and tenacity would help that top line. Kills penalties. He's been productive this year. Great contract. Probably won't come cheap if they're willing to move him. So the Sens have some bargain bin options and some costly ones.

Olofsson (BUF), Roslovic (CBJ), Texier (CBJ), Tatar (SEA) are bargain bin targets.

I'd add Duclair and Barabanov to that as well. Seems like someone is going to overpay for Granlund.

Henrique and Vatrano make sense, but they seem to be getting a lot of the deadline spotlight. I don't want to pay a high price

Tsn causing Buchnevich rumors in 5 4 3….

The Athletic had an article about him today as well. I didnt realize he has been benched and called out by the Blues new head coach over the last couple months. I guess you dont see that side of it when everyone here is pining for him. Rutherford mentioned Vegas. That would be scary for the Western Conference.

if Buchnevich is available he's probably the only one better than Eberle and we already know he works well with Kreider and Zibanejad (and Panarin). i hate the idea of bringing old Rangers back but i'd be into it this time.

How does he help us? Can't skate, never been in the playoffs and he has been the Captain of the toxic dumpster fire in Buffalo the past few years. The players there stopped saluting the fans. Wouldnt really touch anything from Buffalo.

According to latest 32 Thoughts article, there's speculation Blues will want a bundle for Buch -- starting with two firsts.

PASS.

He's actually a pretty effective RW with some size and experience. I'm not saying he's perfect, but neither are Duclair or Olofsson or Kobalik

i dont think anyone is gonna give them that. it'll be a 1st and a couple prospects.

Yeah I don't think any of those guys move the needle when compared to options like Vesey or even Othmann. If they are going to upgrade, upgrade. Dont just add someone's trash because you're trying to pay discount prices.

I'd take a player who has a similar effect on the game to Vesey, or someone slightly less effective and extend the lineup's depth though. I think that's where I'm at with adding a winger. Just because they're not Buchnevich doesn't mean adding someone would be a bad idea.

I'm still waiting on someone to explain to me why the Rangers are trading for one of these guys to replace Brodzinski. The cost to acquire some of these guys is asinine and the upgrade, if there even is one, is going to be minimal.

Now, if you want to try to find an upgrade to Goodrow then I'm all ears. But the cost of acquiring a better 4C should be minimal. No 1st's. No 2nd's. No Berard, Othmann, Sykora or Perrault. Hell, I might go as far as to say no Chmelar or Laba as well at this point for a marginal upgrade.

None of these guys are going to more than marginally improve the roster and some of them are going to require cap gymnastics to acquire.

I'd MUCH prefer to go find a good depth d-man and a good 4C than any of these of the costs are exorbitant. If Pittsburgh wants to dump Eller to free up cap space going in to the off-season, I'm listening. If Seattle wants to dump Wennberg to save actual $$ for the remainder of the season, okay.

The reason is that you're going off an incredibly small sample size. I would bet you can find many 37 game sample sizes of depth players with 2+ pts/60. I'll pick a random guy off the top of my head right now.

How about Tyler Pitlick? Yup, he did it just last year. From his Game 22 to Game 58 he scored 2.07 pts/60.

How about...another former Ranger. Tyler Motte? Not quite but he did put up 1.87 pts/60 last year between his game 24 and 60. The fact that he has scored so far is nice but he has no pedigree saying you should expect him to continue to do so and having done it so far does not give you good reason to think he will do so going forward.

Dare I check Ryan Reaves? Lol, yep he did it too. Game 32 to 68 for him last year. 2.07 pts/60.

My fat ass would be better. LMAO. No I wouldn't, but better than Goodrow is not really setting the bar too low

So regardless of what differences of opinion we have re Goodrow - getting a proper 3C (even the one who’s not someone we’d rave about as 3C) who ultimately pushes Goodrow to 4W is a net positive for the Rangers especially if the trade cost is low.

Bjugstad isn't a terrible idea. Plays C and RW. Isn't terribly old. Only signed through next season. A hair under 50% FO, 85 Hits, 30 pts.

Lavy gave Kakko a chance on the 1st line at the end of the last game. Bjugstad can move around the bottom 6 as 3c or 4c. Or 3rw if Kakko sticks on 1rw.

I haven't seen what his skating looks like so I don't have a concrete opinion on which role he'd be best at. But he fits the Vesey mold as a competent utility player.

Maybe AZ takes Goody back with a sweetener .
