Ideally they spend a 2nd and mediocre prospect AT MOST for a 3C and just take a final crack at the post-season before retooling this summer. Keep the 1st and Kakko, use them in the summer for a long term move if you are going to trade them. Anything they do now will cost more than its worth and probably not move the needle enough to put them in a spot to beat any of the elite teams in the West.

I've been asking for Tarasenko back since the beginning of the year. more of a NYR player than Kane ever was. get me Henrique (ugh) and Tarasenko!

I'd do Goodrow and a 1st for Tarasenko and get Henrique with a second if possible.

Yes but really because the 1C has regressed badly, the 1LW just vibes a lot, and the 1LD has broken down. The whole 2nd pairing has been ass.

That might be a tough push for them. He got hurt right after the big extension and hasn't looked the same since.

Is there some kinda drama between Pinto and the Sens? I know the bogus gambling shit happened but he was unsigned for a while even before that happened.

Other than that, there really is no reason for them to let him go. They're barely paying him anything right now.

the tension was they were waiting to sign until they made a deal, and then they found out about the gambling thing so there was no reason to make a deal to make room. they love pinto

There's a middle ground. The Rangers should add players that can contribute now and also be long term pieces.

Trading valuable assets for rentals is stupid and never works.

I agree with the principle, I remain underwhelmed with Zegras as the return for Kakko though. I already know a bunch of you disagree with me, that's fine. If we do this, I will of course root for Zegras to explode when he comes back.

I mean he’s had 2 60 point seasons before his 22nd birthday. I understand the concern with him but in a swap of players you’d have to think he keeps up that type of production at minimum on a better team
