Am I going crazy or does everyone just not remember Igor having a similarly super shitty February last year. The only difference was the team scored 4+ goals in 6/8 games to cover up the stink (3+ in 7/8 games). He’s fundamentally off right now, and I posted what were the issues in his game. Vally had a whole breakdown of it last year too with respect to his mechanics. They’re going to give him every chance to work it out and get on track.

The goalie market is gonna be lackluster as it always is, even with whatever ridiculous price Trotz wants for Saros. It’s just easy for the Canadian media to hype up because they have Marek saying multiple times a day, “the most valuable player is the backup goalie making less than $1m.” Nobody is busting a nut to bring in Jake Allen or some other Joe Shmo. Drury isn’t punting this season when they’re in 1st place still by trading Igor and playing Quick into the absolute ground. I wouldn’t give him a mega deal extension, but he’s 100% a Ranger until that time comes.
He did he was really bad last February

Why are we assuming Batherson is available?

Did I miss something?
He's not just like Pinto 99 percent is not. Norris is probably the one who would most likely be wanted out but with that deal he just signed might be tough.

Philly taking calls on Scott Laughton. Werent the Rangers interested in him a couple years ago? I feel like he's never done much against us but he is the type of player we should be targeting

From the games I've seen him I like him. What would the price be?
Problem is he has 3.6 million for two years after this. We need cheap middle bottom 6 guys at this point and to make room for Edstrom/Berard/Sykora in a year or two.

EdJovanovski warned everybody and said we lost the Pionk trade!!! When everyone thought it was the steal of the century!
No Trouba....no hit on Jarvis the best Cane player on the ice in the playoffs and the Canes win and not NY . No trouba I highly doubt we beat the Penguins either . Without Reaves I also doubt we beat Penguins as he softened the Pen defense rather nice in the early games in the series . That's how I thought it was then....Without Trouba I doubt we get out of our own division this season .

It was a rumor started by one of our "insiders" I think.

Plus I'm like 99% sure he sucks now.

Prefer Dowd if we are going after a 3C in our division

3 mil cap hit, 3.6 actual money. There is plenty of room in our bottom 6 going forward even with a guy like Laughton. Goodrow is a goner and Brodz/Pitlick are AHL fodder.

That term and cap hit is a huge negative. Unless Goodrow is going to Philly that’s an easy pass.

I'll give you credit as you are nothing if not consistent.

They dropped a 6 piece on Carolina in that game. Something tells me that Jarvis wouldn't have made up the difference.

Trouba huge hit on Domi in game 3 as well to get us back in after going down 1-0 early.

I hate coming off as the Trouba guy but he has value to the team that go beyond charts or his bad contract. He's having a shite year though.

Would this work?

Kakko, Robertson, 2nd, good but not top tier prospect for Marchenko and Jenner
Jones + something small for Edmundsson
Small asset for O Sundqvist
Hartford fodder and a low pick for McCarron

Bread - Trochek - LAF
Kreider - Zib - Marchenko
Cuylle - Jenner - Vesey/Wheelchair
Goodrow - Sundqvist - Wheelchair/Vesey

MCcarron, Edström

Edmundsson - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Lindgren - Gustavsson/Schneider

Swap Miller and The Wreck of Edmundson Fitzgerald and this is one of the better and realistic lineup projections I've seen.

Is that why we're spending almost $12m on Trouba and Goodrow?

they're always compensating for the perceived grit deficit.

The big issue is that the organization grabs players who are one or the other. Look for players who have a decent skill set PLUS decent grit. like Trocheck. Two lines of fancy skill players and two lines of no-skill grit/sandpaper players do not make a "well balanced" lineup.

The other thing is that this organization grabs these grit/sandpaper players and thinks that it can elevate them into bigger roles or bigger minutes than with their previous organizations -- sometimes because of injury/depth issues but mostly by choice -- like magically donning a New York Rangers sweater automatically makes them better.

LA will move Kaliyev for a depth forward with some edge.
Really would like to get Kaliyev in NY. Would be a gamble but getting a shooting RW on an ELC would be a great add. Unfortunately I don't see a match w/what LA is looking unless they want Goodrow lol. The only other forward we have that has edge is Cuylle and I would not make that deal.

It was 0-0 with Carolina on a 2 on 1 when that penalty was called against them for too many men. Someone jumped on the ice before Jarvis crawled back to the bench.

Oddly enough, that was the only season of the 4+ Trouba has played here where he was not bad.

His playoffs were a mixed bag, but his RS was pretty good.
