Concerned about rumors of KK overpay

If KK goes, best we can hope for is
KK, LaF, Gabe P. Wheeler, Goodrow 2.5
for
Sanderson, Pinto, Grieg, Tara

something like that

Trading Perreault at this point, who is probably arguably a top 5 prospect in thr league right now, May be top 10, along with what he brings to the table would be the most boneheaded move this organization has made in decades.

Here’s the video

People calling about Kakko is NOT the same as Drury shopping him. It shows that there is interest in Kakko, that he has some value around the league, especially if teams think we may be stupid or desperate enough to sell low on him.
And Drury SHOULD take calls on Kakko and EVERY other player. Even Fox, if EDM is bringing McDavid to the table. NO ONE is totally untouchable. it would be irresponsible and a dereliction of duty to “refuse” calls.

Depends on the return but Kakko has all the hallmarks of a very good player in his mid-late 20s. Defensively responsible. Clear skill. Big frame. Former high pick. I’d be weary of selling low.
I'm also weary of all the times we've sold low, and am wary that we may well do it again with KK..
:naughty: sorry #pedantic

We're not exactly flush at RW so moving KK is just swapping roster holes, but I'm also not against moving him if you are bringing in a player who of similar age/value who plays a different position.
If they trade him for a rental I'll be pissed

If it’s coming from the TSN talking heads it’s probably just media back and forth with Montreal and Gorton. Monahan, Drury/Gorton beef, now Kakko on the block. None of that sounds like it is coming from the Rangers side imo. Teams are trying to take advantage of Drury’s desperation. I would hold for now.
This could be coming from outside the organization too, so I wouldn't discredit it.

Some teams also want to beat the market. It can be fluff, but if word gets out to throughout the GMs that Drury is willing to listen on Kakko, he's going to get calls, even if this is posturing for the off-season.

I understand the connections and reasoning of a Kakko to Colorado trade but they’re in the market for a center too so that eliminates a center coming back in the deal. Nicushkin is still out right? Kakko would be kind of a replacement at the moment so that eliminates a rw coming back in a trade. They would have to send back a d but I doubt Byram gets traded. Sam Girard is 5 feet tall and I wouldn’t want someone like that for the playoffs.

Kakko and 2ed for Mittlestadt and Krebs would be a good trade for both. I’d do that trade. Would this be fair?

No, because it's only a good trade for one team.

Yea not sure people realize how good he’s been but he’s also 3rd line C

He's not really their 3C. They change their lines and positions a lot there. His most common linemate is Jeff Skinner. Sometimes they play him/Thompson on the same line with one at wing.

Idk, if we add a 1it rounder and maybe a 3hd, Buffalo could be interested.

Folks, it’s Darren f***ing Dreger reporting it. He doesn’t have sources inside the Rangers room, and anything he’s hearing is likely through tertiary channels of the other teams talking to Drury. Someone already said it, but listening on Kakko is not the same as trying to trade him. Kakko also didn’t show up out of shape, that’s just a narrative that’s being pushed without any basis other than him being hurt. Nobody saw him in preseason thinking he didn’t train enough this year. It’s just that preseason doesn’t matter and people over-interpret it way too much.

He started off playing well while Kreider and Zibanejad were sucking ass through a straw. Then he gets pulled from the line because it’s anathema to potentially split up 20-93 for a bit at 5v5 despite having a perfectly capable top-9 at the time. I’d move him in the right deal, but the narratives about him and Miller this year after a rocky first half of a season is just way too over the top.

I already said this, once he can play he should IMMEDIATELY be pivot betw Kreider and Zib, at least until we get Zegras, healthy and ready to try there.

I told you all years ago, nothing wrong with experimenting, be willing to TRY Zib at 1RW
I begged the board to be open minded and just, like give it a shot.
Not something we had to be married to.
But NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

While most respected my right to an opinion, most disagreed and the severest detractors continue to this day to not yield to the logic of experimentation here with an open mind.

bern is not always right all the time
but I wuz then and I am now
I tried the same thing with Laf on PP1 instead of Zibanejad and put Panarin back on the left side where he's been successful in the past, which puts the Rangers' most effective ES offensive zone and cycling line on the ice...with the best in the league (Kreider) front of the net and Adam Fox at the point, and was told we can't do that experimentation because apparently upon Mt. Zion after Moses turned around, the Lord apparently said, "PP1 Shall Not Be Touched."
