Hey Folks,

If you are going to post rumors or news please link a source. If you are an insider, you need to send a PM to SniperHF or click the “contact us” link below, in order to be vetted.

Thanks

Leo
Oh wouldn’t that be a gift. Of the three insiders we had, one left, one’s source left the organization and the other hasn’t posted any cheddar in a long time.
Drury runs a tight ship, yet it’s still sinking.

Sell it all and rebuild like we are an old team. So we can get the next 4 top ten picks (and believe me we will not get #1 and #2) an end up in the same place. I have learned to just enjoy this team, hope for the playoffs, get crazy when they win a round, and hope the hockey gods grant them a cup. This shit gets old. I don't think there is some royal plan to the cup.

Who could Colorado be looking at if their GM has been scouting personally?

Bryam is interesting assuming he doesn’t have any other concussion issues

Imagine thinking coaching is why they turned it around and not a combo of Skinner playing well and McDavid being McDavid again.
Yeah. It feels to me like Gallant Year One except with McDavid and Draisaitl. Let’s see how they do in a few months and onward.

I'd much rather take on Chychrun but I do not know if we have the assets. It'd take 2 1sts probably + a player/prospect

If only Lindgren was a RHD.

I don’t think it would take that much. Definitely a 1st+ good prospect.
Ottawa didn't even give up two 1sts when Chychrun had an extra year of term. Plus there are rumors he won't re-sign with them. No chance they're getting two firsts for him now.

Rangers need a 3C who can score. Dowd somehow finding an offensive game when he turns 34 later this year is lunacy. Saying the Rangers do not need depth scoring is also crazy. Rangers are where they are because they have 1 line that scores and a good powerplay. Rangers are an easy out in the playoffs if you shut down the Panarin line. Not sure how that is even debatable.

Drury needs a splash not just for this year but moving forward.

I also wonder if the Rangers will be looking to buyout Chytil in the offseason if he tries a comeback.Cap penalty is low enough and it would give them 4 million to improve the position now. Not wait for him to get hit miss more time, comeback again to miss more time ETC. if he retires its an easy choice but if he bounces back and forth for the next year or two it could really hurt the team. Personally I think the kid should hang it up for awhile. Your health is more important and the fact you needed to be carried off the ice months after you got concussed shows you need time to heal or more importantly you may need to stop playing. He could live a good life with the 16 mill he has on this contract.

Couldn't agree more. It's Nik Antropov, it's Bryan McCabe, it's Olli Jokinnen. It's not doing much of anything to change the team for the better, really. Might as well not make a move if that's who you're bringing in.
Antropov was a good trade. The only mistake was not extending him...

If you want 'difference makers' it's going to cost a lot of assets, and as we saw last year (and even the year before that to a lesser extent) they don't end up making up the difference.

Spend some cheaper assets if you really need to shore up the current roster and see where the chips fall in the playoffs, then re-asses and reset in the off-season when more teams are involved in the trading

Also, for as rational as I think it is for the Rangers to either be sellers at this Deadline or just take a wait-and-see approach, the reality is there’s a 0% chance our owner sees it that way.

This team is absolutely, positively going to be buyers. And probably as aggressive as they can be given the limited cap space.
I think they should be sellers. Rangers are going nowhere with this roster even more so with the way Shesty is playing sell high on some of these players. Don’t need to get rid of everyone but Goodrow, wheeler, zibanajed for a younger version of him like we did the first time around. Lindgren , Panarin if he would wave. Shesterkin needs to go

Hopefully it is obvious we don't need 3 centers so pick your poison

Henrique for a 2024 4th
--------------------------------------
Hayes for Goodrow & 2025 4th (DAL)
--------------------------------------
Lindholm for a 2024 2nd + Berard/Sykora
OR
Lindholm for a 2024 1st + BMB
* Today, Lindholm would arrive at 5th on the team in scoring. If he isn't performing statistically, the least I'm expecting is a former Selke nominee would can provide some defensive reliability. If the Hanifin trade below doesn't happen, someone like Robertson could be added but let's be honest, he is an ok asset but not that big of a sweetener. Not even one of our top 10 prospects at this point.
--------------------------------------
Hanifin for Lindgren straight up
OR
Hanifin (25-50% retained) for Lindgren + 2024 4th OR 2025 4th (DAL)
* using the Bertuzzi trade as a point of reference. DET retained $2,375,000 when traded to BOS, presuming the 1st was for the player and the 4th was for the TDL cap retaining. Hanifin's 50% number would be $2,475,000

Not one of those teams would make those trades

Further down the food chain - I heard McCarron in Nashville is a possible 4th Liner /spare option being looked at. Michigan boy, UFA, 29 yo in the Pos, 775 k salary, huge, tough as nails, not the worst skater, puts up a few points, PKs, hits, blocks shots, takes draws, decent Corsi, good team guy.

He would be an upgrade over the Rangers dreck.

Nico Sturm? Is Mike Grier on speaking terms with Drury? Chris has more enemies than friends in the NHL.

Sturm has another season remaining at $2M. Very good on draws. One more season remaining.

Montreal hates Drury. Columbus probably hates Drury too.

The Sharks have tons of cap space. Would Grier take Goodrow in the deal? Goodrow started his career in SJ.

Radek Faksa. One year remaining at $3.25M. Pete DeBoer knows Goodrow from SJ. The Rangers retain the difference on Goodrow. $3,641,667. Dallas adds two more seasons.

What would Grier want for Sturm? Grier's trades have been underwhelming as Sharks GM. Can the Rangers handle a $2M bottom six/4th line center? Sharks only have one more retention slot left.
