Whether it’s a BS rumor or not, what do people think of the below proposal?

NYR get…
- Lindholm
- Hanifin (50% retained)

CGY get…
- Lindgren
- NYR 2024 1st
- Sykora
- Another mid/late pick
I hate it. Lindholm is having a down year and we can't afford to re-sign both.

These are not the types of deals we should be making.

I'd much rather take on Chychrun but I do not know if we have the assets. It'd take 2 1sts probably + a player/prospect

If only Lindgren was a RHD.

Zero interest in Monahan. Also zero interest in working out a trade with Montreal, because I have a bad feeling that a trade only goes down if Jeff Gorton and co. is fleecing us.

...or as long as they *think* they are fleecing us.

Muwahahahah.

The long term goal, whether it's this TDL or in the offseason...

Trouba moved. Schneider moves to top4
Lindgren moved.

We need a long term top4LHD. Whether it's Chychrun, Hanifin etc .

KAM Fox
Chychrun Schneider
KAM barely looks like a top 4 dman currently and we are going to give him top pair minutes and matchups?

Lindgren and Trouba can't be moved until we have someone ready to take that spot and unfortunately Miller's play this season has shown he isn't ready.

Drury will not survive another rebuild. Dolan loves the money and could care less about a 10 year plan to build a dynasty. We have no grade A talent besides 10 and 23. We need talent and waiting is not for NY. Lets get some players and use our supposed blue chips. 24 and 79 needed to move forward this year. Both have trouble taking the next step. Like it or not this is the way we roll in NY. Hanifin and Lindholm could be the spark we need. We need some assurances that they resign.

We need to hide Miller with Fox so they can play offense. Miller is horrendous in his zone. They need to play a capable defender with Trouba if you want to salvage this year for him.

How much is Hanifin gonna get though ?

Around what Toews got I have assumed

If they are going to trade for first, make a Hagel type of trade someone young with term or rfa that will be here for more than a year or 2. Get someone in the same age ans Chytil. I wonder if McBain from Coyotes or Kurashev from Hawks would be available. Those would be intriguing to me. I'd love Lundell from Panthers but doubt he is available. So tired of the ufa route with this team

Hanifin would be a good add. He's certainly going to get a fat contract. I'm not sure we need to look outside the organization though. It sucks that K'Andre has struggled this year but I think he'll come around. Lets see how Gustafsson handles these playoffs though. Lindgren could be out again, we'll see what Erik looks like with more ice time. Obviously he's got a ton of offensive ability but he's not like your prototypical one dimensional OFD. He's got a little bit of bite, he can defend well enough. If you compare Gustafsson vs Hanifin, is it really that huge a difference? The biggest thing Hanifin has there is age, you could lock him up long term. But in all likelihood that'll cost you ~7.5 mil a year, is the difference there big enough that it's worth the extra cap hit and whatever assets you have to give up to acquire him? Dont forget, you have free agency as well. I wonder if we wouldn't be better off keeping our picks, fill our D pipeline and just re-sign Gustafsson to a short term deal if he does well this post-season

Hayes is a big softy which is a strike against him but he can hang onto the puck, play D and fits with a lot of our wingers. Not sure how much hes got left in the tank, especially if hes a 3 year commitment. I dont mind him

The options aren’t perfect but in terms of boxes he checks more than a few. At his current cap hit, if he produces around 40 points he’s well worth that deal.

It’s Hanifan for the reason that he won’t cost assets to acquire. Assuming he hits UFA. I also like one of Schultz or Demelo.

KAM is going through a rough patch. He'll be fine.

Could it be that he's dealing with something personal? he left the team not too long ago

The majority of the roster, and more importantly Igor can use the time away right now. Reset your mind. Would rather Igor withdraw from the game entirely. Trocheck too.
