Enlighten you??? Kakko has 6 points in 28 games. Next stupid point please.
What does this happen to do with Zegras exactly? They have both scored roughly the same amount of points and one is getting paid 3.5 mil more than the other. I will say it again for those in the back. Zegras is overrated, soft, and expensive and not what this team needs.

Sad but expected

Only bright side is that if gives the team clarity on their cap situation for this season. Give Chytil all the time he needs and hopefully he can play again one day.

Drury should be on the phone with the agent's for Bergeron and Krejci to get them both to come here.
Both guys will only come out of retirement to play for Boston.

You brought up stats....and so did I.

He'd fit in here perfectly....all style no substance, softer than butter & doesn't play a lick of defense. We need more guys like this.
Yeah but people love that stupid lacrosse goal! That lacrosse goal in MSG equals more money for Dolan!

We just want to see a Rongo do a Michigan once before we die
Kreider did it within the last couple seasons and almost scored IIRC.

And I was talking about Zegras specifically, why I don't want him, and this boards infatuation with him. I mentioned nothing about Kakko. You for some reason brought him up.

defense may be a work in progress, but part of that is on team/system etc.
Will he work hard if he comes here? Yes.
Does he have physical sufficient tools to succeed. We think yes.

He is a pivot
worth trying betw. Kreider + Zib
to see if that works before going elsewhere
if not, still a top 6

He is useless for 2-ish months due to broken ankle so no immediate loss to Ducks and we can LTIR him for that time

He may want out in coupla yrs, and if enuf on the table, makes sense for Ana to go there now

Othmann + is enuf

Jones has had his chance and underwhelmed
play Robertson, Mack

freel free to elaborate/substantiate

till later peeps
peace out
Sorry -- I'm not giving up Othmann for Zegras.

You brought up stats and I brought up the guy I put in the trade proposal for Zegras. Its all related. Zegras is a C, which the Rangers need now, and he's a local guy which doesnt hurt. Kakko has scored a couple goals since returning, and the last two goals have been meaningless goals in garbage time. They could both use a change of scenery.

Sucks about Chytil. Hopefully he comes back healthy next year. Now they know what they have to work with cap wise but it's still going to cost picks and/or prospects to fill that hole.

They can probably fill the 3C role internally without giving up assets. They have some pieces available in Hartford. We already saw them struggle on the PK yesterday. Chychrun scored in about 6 seconds off a lost faceoff. They don't need a star player. Just some guy who can be responsible defensively and PK. Sean Monahan would be totally useless here. He's not great 5v5 and he won't get the PP role.

Enter Nick Bonino.

I wasn't even responding to your post. Just a general comment about this boards infatuation with him.

Better off. This isn't minor. Go back to Czechia, rest, and train again in hopes of returning in seven months from now. You'll know over the summer if he can play again. Helps them now know what they have. $5.2M, about, to add a center and wing. Two targets I am eyeing are Monahan and Sprong. Both cheap rentals.

So what does this do for us cap wise? Since hes been on LTIR since November 2nd does his entire cap hit accrue towards cap space since that time?

Because he’s young, skilled, a center, a Local kid and rangers fan, and most of all, he might actually be available which other young skilled centers are not.
I could care less if he's a Ranger fan and local kid. He's expensive, soft, and awful defensively. I don't give a shit if he can do the Michigan. We need a defensively responsible, hard nosed, competent 3C, who won't cost nearly 6 million for the next 2 years. Pinto is also a local kid. I would much rather go after somebody like him.
