1. stop giving away Kakko
CLEARLY he def HAS CHEM w/Cuylle
that is visible if ya look.
Ok, no Chytil, we can work around til Othmann+ for Zegras+

2. upon his return from injury, Edstrom to pivot CK lw and MZ rw

Kings lamenting PLD acquisition
they have close to zero cap
Shesty + Sykora + BMB
for
PLD + Byfield
is doable b'c Chytil LTIR and then most of Trouba to DET next season

CK - By - MZ
= killer on paper for us
and we can hope to straighten out PLD game

Kings get structural cap relief
upgrade in net
good pivot replacements

PLD's production and contract means the Kings have to give us a 1st to take him on. You are giving Shesty away for Byfield. LA takes that trade 9000% This is some top 10 crack-pot-bern stuff. Edstrom is just gonna just to 1C? Please leave this post out of the bern AI trade generator. Bad data. Stop giving Shesty away. Stop taking on other team's problem contracts for free.

Don't be greedy
esp if you can't get away w/it

a mere 1st is not enuf to consider PLD in a vacuum
but upside of Byfield, a huge pivot w/acceptable speed, now breaking out, early in his elc, is worth the gamble

Once and for all, the rare exception aside, we need to stay ahead of the curve, and not be lazy, deal guys we can sell high on, and profit in the process

Shesty fits that and we should not suppress Garand
Now we get better return for Shesty due to more term at current $
learn from mistakes incl holding on to Buch too long

yes, PLD = huge gamble but guy does not have diminished skills, just lack of heart
but if excited w/correct new linemates, he may get motivated

if not, we can buy him out later

If there's any truth to the chatter (from the main boards) that Casey Mittelstadt is available, he's the guy I'd want to target. Young, solid defensively, primarily a playmaker. I'd staple Othmann on one of his wings and let them gel.

Lmao I can't believe 7 years later I really want this kid on the team.

Cuylle - Casey - Kak

I feel like it's an upgrade in wingers for CM. Giving big time 'when we first got brassard' vibes.

Whos a better realistic 3C for that price?

Call the Coyotes and see if McBain is available. I’d gladly offer a 2ed if not more for a Brian Boyle type and only 23 years old.

Fallback would be Nick Bjugstad UFA to be 31 years old

RW depth

Call the Sharks try to get Duclair back to the Rangers.

Call the Wild and see if Duhaime is available, RW depth has some spunk, PK ability works hard only 26 but UFA to be this summer.

It’s a shame Ryan Hartman resigned with the Wild. He was something Rangers can use plays with emotion, sometimes a bit too much but has skill for top 2 lines and can forcheck well.

a guy without heart won't develop it because of new linemates, and yay more buyouts

Given how well Cuylle and Kakko fit together, it would be a shame not to at least try to explore an option between them. Brod isn't it, and Chytil might not play another game. He shouldn't play another game this season at least.

Anything interesting out there, for a relatively cheap cost? Wouldn't want to give a 1st or a top prospect for a 3rd line C.

They can fit Roslovic with no money retained with Chytil on LTIR

Right but I’m only the grab 3 F train
2Cs and a RW
Columbus Would retain for not much extra he’s not worth 4 mil

Wennberg and Eberle are UFAs in Seattle ?

This is Sean Monahan stuff is so dumb. Monahan is always hurt. Any team trading for Monahan needs to include games played in the playoffs and how far the team advances in the playoffs conditions in the trade.

Monahan was a topic on 32 Thoughts last Friday. Friedman was saying getting a #1 pick for Monahan depends on whether that team wants to extend Monahan, how many teams are interested and how far up in the lineup Monahan will play. Will teams trade #1 pick for a third line center rental? Teams feel Monahan is better suited as a 3rd line center.

Monahan isn't playing in the Rangers top 6.

Freidman said teams are "wondering" if the Rangers will try to acquire Monahan. I hate when he does that. He did the same nonsense in preseason when Lafreniere was struggling in preseason. There was a BOG event in NJ. Teams told him the real story was Lafreniere struggling and they were planning to attend the Rangers preseason game that night. It's preseason. Stop trying to create a story.

The Rangers and Habs hate each other. Good. The Rangers should have the beef here. Bobrov and Clark took Kravtsov 9th overall in 2018 and the guy was a disaster. 2nd best forward behind Svchenikov. Really? Such BS. Clark said that. Did the Rangers vet Kravtsov? Then the Gorton crew moves to Montreal and they won't touch Kravtsov. There should a new clause in the CBA. When one management team selects a player in the first round and then that management team moves to a new team, they should obligated to acquire that player for a first round pick.

Don Maloney did the same thing with Al Montoya who has going to be the Rangers #1 goalie for the next ten years. Montoya was bust. Three years later, Maloney goes to Phoenix and traded a bag pucks for a player he took 6th overall.

No wonder why the Rangers never win. They make bad picks when they have a top pick. Lias Andersson was the biggest disaster in Rangers history.

They got nothing or Kravtsov yes but let’s not act like all 1st rounders do well . Obviously was a terrible selection but I wanted Wahlstrom and that’s been meh too

Atleast Lias turned into Cuylee

Chytil was concussed when he collided with Sillinger on Oct. 24, 2022. That's almost a year and half ago. Even then he wasn't fully right after a concussion the previous spring iirc. And he was badly concussed now again this Nov and apparently again now.

The chance that Chytil makes a comeback fully healed is looking very remote. Heartbreaking for sure.

Okay. Let's get nuts.

-Lindgren, Goodrow, Robertson, 1st in 2024 and 2025 for Chychrun and Tarasenko (50% ret). Ottawa can buy Lindgren out for cap savings of 200k this summer.

-mid round pick to Seattle for Tanev. 3.5m hit that will be off the books next summer. Versatile and can add another element to our bottom 6.

-snag Colin Blackwell from CHI. Not sure what his value might be but we could use some speed.

Panarin Zibanejad Lafreniere
Kreider Trocheck Tarasenko
Cuylle Tanev Kakko
Vesey Blackwell Wheeler
Pitlick/Brodzinski

Miller Fox
Chychrun Trouba
Gustafsson Schneider
Jones/Mackey

Bjudstad has another year. Im not trading assets for a 32 year old 3C with 1 year left to go.

domi is a very good 3c at a good price

At 50 off he’s an option for sure and wouldn’t be too costly . Thing is they likely need 2Cs

I doubt TO is giving up and trading Domi anyway
Im not talking about trading for Domi. Im talking about signing him as a ufa this summer to replace chytil

I would trade Igor for Dubois. I think that would actually be a very clever move. Dubois' a strong even strength producer, has speed and has good possession and rate metrics. I think that would give us some really dangerous lines.

I almost spit out my coffee. What? Jessiman? Mcilrath? And who was that guy... um... shit... I have to look it up.. ah, yes... Pavel Brendl

Andersson isn't even close.

I was about to say, Andersson was a bust but played a few NHL games.

That 2003 Draft was such a disaster. Like it altered the franchise disaster. Everyone thought they were taking Getzlaf, including Getzlaf himself. How long did it take them to find a true #1 Center?

We also all knew McIlrath was going to be a bust. I really wanted Tarasenko, and wouldn’t you know who won the pony.
