There’s more to life than fancy stats
Like Bonino's blocked shots or faceoffs? And Goodrow's muh gritz?
There’s more to life than fancy stats
IrrelevantThey are in 1st place lol
Maybe they can bounce back and go on another strong run ? How is that a crazy thought if they add depth ?
No team does what you suggest ever that’s facts.
Nic dowd come on down! Rangers trading a 1st for 2 years of Dowd retained at league minimum will be hated by everyone here but is actually good business. In before @Machinehead shows us a chart that says he sucks. All I know is that he kills us and plays with an edge
How do you know he wanted to come here?Rangers should have taken a chance on Parise
Unironically, somewhere between sort of and pretty much.Like Bonino's blocked shots or faceoffs? And Goodrow's muh gritz?
It’s all just window dressing until we address the issue at 1CGoodrow to the sun.
Trouba to Detroit with a bit of money retained for a couple of day 2 draft picks
Lindgren to Arizona for Barrett Hayton and our 2024 2nd back.
Shesterkin to Ottawa for Shane Pinto and 2024 1st.
NYR 2024 1st to Boston for Jeremy Swayman.
I'd look to trade a prospect or two to get Frank Vatrano back.
Sign a 4C that can actually skate.
Chytil retires or LTIR
That leaves about 6 or 7 million by my math to get two more defensemen to replace Lindgren and Trouba besides using kids or vets on league min to fill out the rest.
That's probably about as big of a turnover you'll get this summer.
Bigger decisions on Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider and Kakko get deferred to 2025.
If it's one year for similar to his current salary, then I'm into it. He's just not a guy I'd bet on outside of one year, maaaybe two. For this year, I'd do a 5th or something, but I wouldn't spend actual draft capital or prospects on him.with chytil’s situation the no brainer signing this offseason is max domi. Solid 3C and brings some MUCH NEEDED juice to the locker room. This team is DEAD.
I don't disagree, but that contract is just that toxic right now. No one is going to want it and the player isn't going to waive his NMC.It’s all just window dressing until we address the issue at 1C

IF he’d agree to 5 X $3.5 idk how you say no. Hes worth more than that thoughIf it's one year for similar to his current salary, then I'm into it. Your post begins with Zibanejad has a NMC and can’t be moved and ends with Zibanejad can be moved if Pettersson or McDavid are available.I don't disagree, but that contract is just that toxic right now. No one is going to want it and the player isn't going to waive his NMC.
If I'm elected Supreme Leader of the Rangers, this is my 2024-25 opening night lineup
Panarin-Zibanejad-Lafreniere
Kreider-Trochek-Kakko
Hayton-Pinto-Vatrano
Vesey-Edstrom-Cuylle
Miller-Fox
UFA-Schneider
UFA-UFA
Swayman
Quick (I bring him back for one more year if he wants)
The defense is going to be totally reconstructed. Gustafsson wouldn't be the worst to bring back. I'm scouting Joel Edmundson, Dylan Damelo, Derek Forbort, Matt Roy, Justin Schultz, Gus Forsling, and Sean Walker to fill the two other spots with 3 or 4 year deals. There's literally nothing in the farm that will be ready before the end of those contracts. Fortescue has the best shot but he's three years away at least. He's a 3 year college player, IMO.
Big money in Panarin and Zibanejad can be moved if Pettersson or McDavid are available.

Hanafin is going to cost too much. $7 million plus/year. They need to be smart since they'll have about that amount to fill 2 or 3 defensive vacancies. They can't blow it all on one player. Another 7 year contract is the last thing this team needs. Hanafin is not the player to move heaven and earth to accommodate.Replacing Lindgren and Trouba with Hanifan and someone like Demelo or Schultz would be massive upgrades on defense. Even just going as far as Edmundson and Schultz to kick the van down the road a couple of years.
I get the sense that any trade of Trouba would have cap coming back. Assume it’s Detroit and it’s likely Kostin + Holl + picks. Lindgren for Hayton + pick. Sign Perron. He won’t be expensive and plays with passion.
Amongst NHL centers, he’s currently 77th in 5v5 point production. And that’s not even normalized for ice time, which would make him look considerably worse.
He's literally a replacement level player at even strength, holy shit...
No hyperbole, he’s producing like an average to below average 3C right now. And it’s not a small sample size. He's literally a replacement level player at even strength, holy shit...
