You were the one who made an issue of that last week. Something about Zuccarello being traded. What's with your obsession with Zuccarello? Say anything bad about him and the Zuccarello gestapo come looking for you. Zuccarello. He was not playing well and people were blaming AV. The same people who thought Zuccarello was worth $2M. He barely played in the league and he was worth all of the money in the world. He was barely playing like a $1.15M player. It was all AV's fault. He did a pretty good job taking them to the Finals. This is all about Zuccarello.

When has Zuccarello had a bad season with AV as the coach? AV's first year here, he put up 59 points....

59, 49, 61, 59...

??? Joe Sakic would want Skjei, McDonagh, Kreider, Henrik, next 45 first round draft picks, etc.

To me...its about which GM is more notorious for making awful trades. Chiarelli is imho a bottom 5 GM...Sakic is also a bottom 5 GM...but both for very different reasons.

At some point Sakic will feel the heat to make a move. That team is horrible. he has been all talk and no action. He will start to feel the pressure if he hasn't already

Sakic has lost every big trade he's made..i just don't see him moving one of his stars for anything short of an overpayment.

I almost never say anything bad about AV. I think AV has been a very good coach. You are looking to spin and deflect instead of just admitting that like the rest of us you make mistakes. I could bring up plenty of other examples but I'm not looking to make you eat crow. I was looking to take the high road so I apologized. If you want to take the high road as well you could apologize to the people you called stupid and imbeciles in the last week or so.

Needed 7 games against Washington and 7 games + 2OT against Ottawa.

What's the narrative this summer if Ottawa gets a bounce in game 7 OT? Bet you we're having a lot more discussions about how we lost the Brassard/Zibanejad trade because Brassard is a 'winner', and that we need a d-man "like" Karlsson if we expect to win anything ever.

They learned how to win from their experience in big games last year.

It comes because you've done nothing but **** and moan that Zuccarello exists since 2011 and have pushed to trade him every year whether it made sense or not.

In the beginning of the 13-14 season. He got off to a bad start.

To be fair, so did the entire team. We had a thread here talking about stripping it down and tanking. Marty Biron retired after shortly after we got embarrassed by the Sharks.

Are you surprised?

This whole board loves doing just that.

Hank. Every single damn October. Dude always starts slow, there's always overreactions, and then lo and behold, he's back to where he usually is by mid November. Wash, rinse, repeat for 10 years

You're comparing the Rangers to Nashville. Last year at this time it was SJ. What's the point? San Jose lost in the first round last season. I don't think Nashville is guaranteed a spot back to the finals. SJ kept their core together and they went to the final. We can do the same thing. The Rangers lost to Ottawa. San Jose lost in the first round. Nashville could lose in the first round this coming season. The Rangers have a big hole at center and they want to play more young D. Gorton is discussing rebuild on the fly, trading away his top center for #1 pick and there does not seem to be a trade coming to replace Stepan. You guys are talking about the Rangers winning the Cup. There seems to be a big disconnect there.

My point is, we aren't much different than a Nashville team that just went to the cup finals. Who in the East is scary? The only team I am actually afraid of is Toronto. Maybe Tampa. Pittsburgh won't 3peat. Columbus was mighty pedestrian outside of their absurd win streak last season. Montreal? That team took 9 steps back. The Islanders lost their best defender. New Jersey? Lol. Philly might be alright but their goaltending is still a mess. They better hope Giroux and Voracek have career years. The Caps aren't the same team. Carolina made some upgrades but they still can't score. Detroit? Buffalo? Ottawa? Boston? None scare me. Ottawa's playoff success was a fluke. We were the better team then and are a much better team now.

Outside of Toronto and Tampa (if Stamkos is healthy), who is scary in the East? The Rangers should be top 2 in their division and have an easy path to the ECF. I know anything can happen but things sure as **** aren't as doom and gloom as you make them out to be. When was the last time our defense was this good. 20 years ago? Some of our rookies will progress. We have a good hockey team. There are never guarantees you will win the cup. But it also isn't as unlikely as you make it seem.

Of all players to dislike and constantly be trying to move, Zuccarello is a real head scratcher to me.

He's one of the best forwards on the team, in his prime still, has shown a willingness to take less on his contracts to be a Ranger, constantly out performs his cap hit.

I honestly don't get it.

It's pretty simple really he was wrong about him and the guy is incredibly arrogant, disrespectful, and has a huge ego so he can't stand to see how wrong he was so he wants him off the team so he doesn't have to watch and read about him anymore.

What are you talking about? Seriously? You brought up something from nearly one year ago. It was about Zuccarello. Surprise. I never said I am perfect. You have major issues.

It's about getting value in return. Same thing with Brassard. It's business.

I love Zuccarello but no one should be off limits if it gets you a boost in return, particularly a top line center.
