I'd rather not have Bozak even with a million retained for a 2nd. Hang on to that pick

Whats' the hold up on the deals being made? Teams waiting to know where they stand on the cap with their RFA's? Or is it Vegas holding everything up with their guys they are trying to move for futures? Too many players available?

Yes, it's likely the Rangers aren't making any moves until they figure out Zibanejad. After that, dominoes will be able to fall.

He was awful as a center. It was too much for him to handle his first few years in the league. I've said it a bunch of times, but I don't think it's coincidence that he blossomed once he was moved to the wing. Maybe he'd be better now that his overall game has improved, but that would be last resort in my book.

100% JT @ Center should be an 'if all else fails' tactic.

Miller is 24. He played center in the AHL. Three seasons ago. Gorton and the Rangers management team like Miller's in the middle. Last time I checked. Gorton is the boss.

He's been playing winger in the NHL and developing as a winger in the NHL.

Do the Rangers really want to waste the better part of a season hoping Miller acclimates to a new position? He doesn't have a weaker league to develop in. The NHL will punish him, and the team if he fails to deliver.

Then what do we do? Beg for a signing that will cost us more?

Miller's game seems to change to a less effective version of himself when shifted to center.

I believe his mindset changes too much when playing pivot.

That's just my impression of what I've observed.

Even with shifting miller to C, we are REALLY weak down the middle unless these guys take another leap of improvement. Naturally, Zibby is the most important piece. He looks like he can be a 60 pt effective two-way center, but match-ups with the elite C's will be tough. It sounds like the organization has faith in Hayes to elevate, and while he showed some great play in the first half with JT, man did he fade down the stretch.

I think the Stepan trade was the right move, especially to get Shatty, but play down the middle will be the achilles heel this year and may put us on the bubble.

There's always camp and preseason to sort this stuff out. AV has seen enough of Miller on wing and at center to get a grasp of what he wants quickly.

Disappointing they're going to arbitration

Pretty big chance they agree upon something before The Arbitrator comes with a decision. If we sign a one year deal it will be for $4.725.000. If it is a longer deal well over $5M per, we may very well see a heralded Marc Staal buyout this weekend. Time will tell. My prediction is 5 years for 5,25-5,4 M per

Not surprised. Mika fired his agents at Newport sports and hired his brother in law to be his agent.

I think Newport Sports charge somewhere around 4% as their fee. If they land at 5 M x 5 years that is a million bucks retained within the family. Enough to buy plenty of turntables, playlists, mixer tables and headphones...

I don't understand why this is taking so long. Mika may be one of the most important players now and in the future. The center core is already bad enough
