I'm willing to give JT a go at center to start the season so that we can then all realize he's not suited there and the Rangers can go out and get someone who actually is a center.

Didn't Miller do well at C this year in limited action?

well if Miller moves to center, the Rangers should have no reason not to put both Buchnevich and Vesey in the top 9 at least.

Why do we have to do this again and again and again and again

Pretty sure JT at center has not really been done again and again and again

I think he's at best a bandaid but possibly better than overpaying for a center

I'd love to get Skjei on a contract similar to what Dumolin signed today. Not gonna happen if his offensive game stays similar or improves.

The Islanders really gave Pelech $1.6MM per for 4 years? Guy has played a total of 50 games or something like that.

That was a good signing imo. He's solid. Maybe a year too long for a kind of unproven player but if I were an Isles fan(which stings to say) I'd be good with it.

Anyway, I still think a deal around Holden and Bozak will happen with a + from the Rangers. Holden+2nd for Bozak seems accepted by both sides

1C problems solved, right there.

You realize Lindholm is a -62 in his career and has been a minus every year?

Ovechkin once was -35 while winning the Rocket Richard.

He's a natural center.

Just because he played center at a young age, doesn't mean he can in the NHL.

Agreed. I can see this happening. Maybe we get a later pick back as well?

Staal (some $ retained) plus for Bjugstad would be preferable. Bjugstads (eventual) buyout is much more reasonable even if we retain some on Staal. They seem bat feces crazy down there. Maybe they bite?

I've had bozak for Holden and a 2nd penciled in all summer. IMO the rangers are probably balking at including the 2nd considering the cap hit and numbers Holden put up last year. Adding a second may be way to much on our end to include.

I've been a fan of bozak for awhile now wanted us to get him years ago when I didn't trust Hayes as a rookie center going into the playoffs. Bozak would be a very solid addition to this club.

I just dont think it gets done. Leafs have come out and said they dont want to move Nylander to center yet. Thatd leave a hole for them if they got rid of Bozak

I don't really even know what that means anymore, it's almost like saying Kreider is a natural center because that's what he played in high school or something.

it means you were drafted and scouted because of your abilities at center.

he played solid PK with Hayes this season, and JT even led in that department in SHG/PPTs for a little bit (ended in top 3/hayes top player). he's not a defensive liability and this summer I'm sure he working on becoming even more of well rounded player.. don't sleep on him not being a capable center..

I'm not understanding this last statement. At a young age? He played center all through Juniors and his time in the AHL. It's not like he only played center from age 12-15.

Yes, at a young age. He didn't really flourish when he played center in the NHL and was moved to the wing, where his style of play suits him much better.

Quite a few NHL wingers played center in juniors and before that, because they are so much better than the rest of the players. Center is the most difficult position in hockey.

I wouldn't give a 2nd alone for Bozak. No deal.

As it is now, without a Staal buyout, Toronto would need to retain about a million if we dealt for Bozak sending Holden the other way for us to be (likely) cap compliable. Hence adding the 2nd. Not saying it should be done, but that is the reality of the current salary cap situation. It might get done though. Will be an interesting week to see what Zinbad signs for, the eventual Staal buyout and whatever else JG has up his sleeves. Dominoes???;)

Understood, and I concur he has looked better at wing than at center. But he should be given a longer look at center if the organization wants to see him there. Not just 5 games. His value multiplies if he can show he can play center.

I'd rather not have Bozak even with a million retained for a 2nd. Hang on to that pick

Whats' the hold up on the deals being made? Teams waiting to know where they stand on the cap with their RFA's? Or is it Vegas holding everything up with their guys they are trying to move for futures? Too many players available?
