Maybe we should just ignore the cap. What are they gonna do, call the cops?
Maybe, but I think our team not winning is proof that having a buyout of a player every summer is a serious hindrance. Wouldn't that 3.5 million in dead space be real nice right about now? That's a whole ass good player. Haha
Just as good and he is a terrific pk guy. With the loss of Motte (possibly) we will need him.Goodrow isn’t better defensively than Mika
I think the most likely scenario is that they're just keeping Nemeth and think he'll be better.
well unless we get a haul for Kreider trading him just to get rid of his cap then signing a 32 year old to a 7.5-8 million dollar deal is not that smart IMO.If Drury is smart, he's trying to get rid of Kreider. This is the highest his value is ever going to be. That's the only way I see Kadri working cap wise.
This isn't a knock against Kreider before anyone gets mad at me.
If he's going to make it work for a team with a sweetheart deal, I would imagine that team would be Colorado.Kadri's agent is either pumping the Rangers heavily to drum up offers from a rival or there's an off chance he would want to play here and make it work on a shorter term/lower AAV deal.
Otherwise, it makes zero sense for this team.
like Old man Pavelski, he continues to produce at a really high level. Why are people still talking about old man Stastny? Have we not learned by now?
Playing LW on Dubois’ line. Here’s another reminder Stastny at 36 years old only paced for 8 less points than a 24 year old PL Dubois
Worth a shot, we've seen people around the league ignore far worse.Maybe we should just ignore the cap. What are they gonna do, call the cops?
Plus they have Hajek to fall back on if Nemeth does not bounce back.Agreed. The one thing we always gloss over. They probably thought he was negatively influenced by lingering COVID/personal issues and are ok giving him another look.
I don’t think he can anchor our third line as C. That puts him as a third line winger or 4C plus PK. I don’t know if that’s worth $3.6m in the cap era.Goodrow is their best defensive forward and faceoff guy. 3.6 is a bargain.
Now Seravelli is pushing it lol. How does this work!?With Brooks’s sources dried up, we’re all being treated to a terrifying glimpse of what his imagination can cook up
yeah! The Copps arent signing here anyways, so to hell with them.....Maybe we should just ignore the cap. What are they gonna do, call the cops?
I heard the DFO podcast. Frank said there is interest in JT Miller but there aren't that many teams in on Miller.
I dunno, I know Kadri walks a very fine line, but I could see him making a huge impact for us. He's the kind of player you hate until he's on your team. If the terms were resonable, I'd be all for it.
I think a big part of why he walked a fine line was that he thought he had to be the tough guy of the team. It was the case with the Leafs, was the case with the Avs at first. When the Avs got MacDermid, just needed to focus on his own game and it all worked out. The Rangers would have Reaves and Trouba there.Love that Kadri walks a fine line. No issues with him stepping over the line every now and again.
If we have issues fitting Copp or Strome, we are never gonna fit Kadri's ask
While I want NOTHING to do with Kadri, there is no guarantee Malkin even wants to come here.Just No.
Sign Malkin to a shorter term deal and likely at a lower AAV that will allow you to fill out your depth with 1-2 more guys
Whew!Plus they have Hajek to fall back on if Nemeth does not bounce back.
Whew!
