I’d definitely take Bennett. Been beating that drum since the year before he was traded to Florida.
Honestly, if you asked me who I’d rather have on the team at this juncture, with the personnel we have: Kreider or Kadri, I’d probably take Kadri.
He plays a band of hockey we need - that goal against Tampa that was so controversial because of too many men was a player attacking the center of the ice - and he’s a bonafide top six two way center. Kreider has also historically only been a 50 point player.
But we have Panarin, Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov and then Otthman with Cullye, Berard, etc. and we don’t have a legitimate option at 2C. If you could move Kreider for a positive return (not a cap dump, but move him at his peak value based on the 50 goal season and actually get a nice return for him) I probably would not be against Kadri - or a PLD or Miller extension - but it really isn’t worth discussing since there’s about a .03% chance of Kreider moving.
