what will be hilarious is if this scheme is hatched up and a team like the yotes signs kadri with the intention of trading him and then the league rejects the trade after the contract is signed. would be hilarious

i do remember kypreos claiming he heard the yotes wanted to sign a ufa this year of stature to signal to everyone that they arent just mainling it in and are attempting to compete. he mentioned kadri. this was a few weeks ago. what a mess.

I'd have to refresh my memory, yet I think the team who retains salary can not re-acquire that player for a year.

Yet I am not sure if there are any rules against signing a player, and then right away trading them with retention, yet since I don't remember it ever happening, it seems like some team would have already done this.

Dude, i love your posts and we always get into discussions but you need to pick one and stick with it here.. Either you are okay with it or not. There are no degrees of cheating, you cheat or dont cheat.

You are ok with other teams cheating but with us you say its a bit too far?

No I think this level of cheating (Getting someone else to sign a player you want and then have them trade said player to you immediately at a reduced rate) is too far.

If it isn't, then f*** yeah lets exploit the f*** out it.

How old is Larry Brooks? He has been around forever. The guy went to Rangers games in the 1950's. He started covering The NHL for the Post in the mid-1970's. He reminds me of my senile old uncle. Brooksie just dropped a bomb regarding Kadri. Sign and trade with a team like Chicago or Arizona and thy retain half if we send them a package around Kakko/Lundkvist.

I will believe it when I see it, but Larry suggesting it as a realistic option gives some credibility to these rumor imo.

Trochek gets branded as a 2 way C but the reality is that he kind of sucks defensively.

He's ok. I wouldn't mind Trocheck and I do like that he's a RH shot if he's playing with Panarin.

When it's an elimination game and the big boys are going over the boards for a key PP, you want this player to go with them.

I'd prefer some diversity with onetimer options off the Right boards for when they shutting down the Mika option.

Having just on LH shot doesn't make much sense to me.

Hey if Kadri or Miller or *insert 2C upgrade du jour* can get us a Cup in those 3 years (I think it gives us as good a shot as anyone) I am willing to throw caution to the wind a bit. The current roster is screaming for a "final piece"
