He’s a huge bust IMO. Someone will obviously take a flyer on him but I dont see him sticking in the NHL full time. That Borgstrom buyout makes NO SENSE

Chicago management definitely going down on their players and their QOs
Those two with Bread will only see the offensive zone and the defensive zone. Neutral zone play would be non-existent.Trade for Kane
Trade for Scheiffele
Put together the worst defensive line in NHL history...
How will they get from one to the other? Those two with Bread will only see the offensive zone and the defensive zone. Neutral zone play would be non-existent.
I'd love to see how this would play out lmaoTrade for Kane

Lots of offensive zone starts then. Easy coaching move. They wouldn't.
how much will Mikheyev want?
He'd be a nice add

Yep, Stastny is the easiest answer to many of our problems. The only question really is what does NYR do beyond that (if they can sign him)?
Seems like his skating is iffy. Why hasn't he broken into their lineup yet?
As far as low buys go, this one doesnt seem too bad.
The buyout period closes tomorrow at 5pm. A team can place a players on waivers tomorrow. They can process the paperwork for the buyout. If the player is claimed on waivers on Wednesday, obviously there is no buyout of the contract. Is today the last day players can be on waivers for buyout?
If so, no word on Nemeth yet

"Lots of teams are tight on the cap, so it's going to be interesting," Holland told ESPN. "And then other teams ... you wonder if they want to spend."
The NHL salary cap is $82.5 million for next season, a rise of just $1 million over last season's ceiling. That doesn't bode well for the NHL's middle class of players who are seeking new unrestricted and restricted free-agent deals.
"What we're seeing play out right now is going to be [rough] for them," one NHL agent told ESPN.
NoWho says no:
Pan Mika CK
Kid Line
Goodie Stastny (2x$3) Krat or whoever wins job
Motte (assuming 1.8 AAV) Rydahl Blais
We can move Goodie to 4C if Rydahl sucks, backfill him with Blais or Motte. I think Kravtsov has inside track but Othmann or Cuylle or Blais may have something to say. You could flip Pan and Krat for a different look. Doesn’t cost any assets and we don’t have to pay to move Nemeth yet.
if it costs any one or combination of Lafreniere, Kakko, Chytil, Kravtsov, Othmann, Cuylle, Miller, Schneider, Sykora, Berard, 1st in 23View attachment 567237
Maybe this lowers what the Rangers offer for Kane, like when Nash forced his way here.
