Clarifying what i said:

I meant any amenity that would influence player performance... I.E. weight room wise, training staff wise, sports science wise.

Clearly NY has off ice amenities that aren't really comparable. I.E. Player X's wife likes broadway so Player X asks management and they pull strings to get him some good seats. Dinners at fancy restaurants, the typical things you'd see with people with connections/money/fame

I would still beg to differ. You can check that with the two NY local teams. See their repsective practice facilities. Meal options. Who picks up the tab on certain amenities... etc.

Our center depth may be weak but it's not the end of the world.
The defence has improved a lot, we still have a great group of wingers and we have an elite goalie. Nashville made the SCF with Fisher as their #1c.
LOL at the people saying we won't make the playoffs.

Andersson starts year @ 3C!!
Mark it down.
Let's not make any roster moves and start the season with some cap space(new concept) and see where it takes us?
Who's in?

Ryan Johanson would argue otherwise. He just didn't play in the finals.

Gary Bettman

So apparently my sisters student is the granddaughter of Gary Bettman.

Maybe I should meet him and tell him to stop hitting the 'screw the Rangers ' button.

I think if this is the plan, it is a fairly new plan...

If this is the plan, It means they were considering moves and Andersson looked good enough in the prospect camp to believe he'll compete well enough to earn NHL time.

It would be incredibly dumb for this team to make a judgement on him regardless of what it was based off of 5 days in July.

We don't know how he'll look in September, but he'll certainly get a long look.

Where does this concept of the Rangers having the best benefits, treatment of players, etc etc come from?

Not that im doubting the truth of it, but i always hear that from players or former players when playing to the New York media... Do you really think a player is ever going to crap on a franchise and the normal people that work for them? Most of these testimonies are from people who are still relying on that franchise directly or indirectly for money, they're drinking the coolaid/part of the system.

This is a major professional sport in North America, I highly doubt theres any amenity one team has that other teams do not.

I think our practice facility is nicer than some of the other team's home arenas.

They actually did with Ryan Johanssen as their 1C, he got hurt during the finals didn't he?

Also, we don't have a Forsberg winger either. and our defense is good, but the top 4 is not yet Nashville good.

I don't see any way that Anderssen is playing this year in the NHL, certainly not right away.

i have a feeling that when camp breaks the middle of the ice will look like this

mika
hayes
DD
nieves

i think management believes that boo nieves is ready to assume a full time 4C role.

DD was signed to allow miller to stay on the edge

and kevin hayes is being given a huge opportunity to show what he's got at 6'5 220 lbs. they seem to really like his upside. huge opportunity for him to grab the 2C.

i also think well see some jtmiller at center ice in camp as a hedge. if he plays well at center, then thats going to make for some interesting decisions.

i think were done adding guys for now.

If that's the case, NYR have 3 likely NHL defensemen competing for 1 starting spot. DeAngelo, Bereglazov (With KHL out) and Nick Holden.

With Holden on a cost controlled contract coming off a 34 point year and likely on the fringe of the NYR lineup, it seems a better time than ever to try to flip him for a forward.

I'm still on the Holden+3rd for Bozak train here. One year deal is perfect.

Don't think any moves are being made until ZBad signs (or they at least know what the contract is going to be.

Does anyone think the Rangers were disappointed with Stepan's past or current play? I don't think so. I think they were afraid of how he would age over the next 4 years and saw an opportunity to bring in a couple of nice pieces that would help in the very near future.

In saying that, if they could trade for a younger Stepan who they felt would age more gracefully, say, RNH, why wouldn't they do it? I will keep saying, Edmonton is going to have cap issues. RNH is in a similar spot that Brassard was before he was traded to the Rangers. He was a high pick who has been overpasses by the new flashier young players. If Edmonton has soured on him and is willing to trade him for mainly a cap savings, he'd fit in well here as a top-6 center.

Were waiting for the explanation.

How long would it take to decide that it's not a slump and a true decline? How much time would be wasted better spent on someone else in the lineup? A month? Two months? And in that time, how many games could have been won with a positive contributor on the team.

I'd only take him if we can dump Staal.

In Sean Avery's Players Tribune Article he talks about how well the Rangers provide for their guys, specifically with catered meals, etc. on road trips, to the point where they never have to touch their travel per diem. He seemed to suggest that not all teams do quite as much.

Some potential stop gaps:

- Sign Jagr for a 1 year incentive loaded contract and move Miller center.
- Move Holden + pick for Bozak and keep Miller on the wing.

Or if the price is right, trade for RNH or Duchane.

Even if you want to set aside all the player testimonials as "playing to the media". There are several other benefits that other teams can't replicate. Best travel schedule in the NHL for one. The ability to play on a major franchise in the league in the biggest city in the country yet still be the 6th most covered sports team in the area. Basically the best of both worlds.

And if he's not ready, we're screwed.

There is no reason to just hand him the job. If he earns it in camp then we have some good depth.

You can't just go into the season with unproven guys. Not only that, but a total inability to cover for injuries.

We need probably 2 more depth forwards here. We're the NY ****ing Rangers, not some slapdick team. Have some pride.

The 2nd is better overall.. and I doubt the Avs want a 28 year old LHD no matter how good he is who is only signed for 2 years they're rebuilding and zero chance he re signs.

Why would Colorado take 2 years of McDonagh as opposed to multiple years of MacKinnon?

You know damn well that McDonagh is not resigning in Colorado.
