Why are we going after Horvat? He isn’t really better than Copp. We already lost a 1st+2nd+Barron for Copp (was well worth it) and now we’re going to have to give up at least 2 1st round picks for Horvat.

1st+1st+1st+2nd+Barron for a long term good 2C is f***ing terrible. Even worse is Horvat’s contract is up next season and we’d be giving him his retirement contract

You either sign Copp, Malkin, or Trocheck or let Chytil ride out as 2C with Goodrow at 3C

Fox and CK had plays where they coasted or barely moved. I do not know if that was injury or exhaustion but they were not near their best at times. Fox more in the Carolina series. CK in the TB series.
No player is going to play top notch every single game when they play against very good competition. Exhaustion was a problem for the entire team especially in the Tampa series. Fox had 23 points in 20 games in his first real playoffs. That's outstanding. Mika had 24. Kreider scored some big time goals also. To say they disappear when the going gets tough is like I said total bullshit.

LOL if NJD gets Gaudreau. Imagine a leadership group with Johnny Gaudreau, Dougie Hamilton, the Hughes bros, and a 22 year old. Might be one of the worst cores ever, everyone has a kid mentality there. Wouldn’t mind him going to Philly either so they can stay in purgatory the next few seasons

I had a dream last night that Kakko and Motte were traded to Detroit for 4 prospect/AHL wingers lol. And the only reason I found out about it was because I was watching preseason highlights and Kakko assisted on a Marc Staal goal

Is there real chatter that they might?
I don't think I've heard any legitimate rumors but word is that nothing, including Dach, is bolted down in Chicago (unless it's bolted with a NTC).

well that's the issue with Chytil and Kakko... health. It's always something with them

The issue with Chytil is he's not skilled enough and lacks the hockey iq for top 6 mins...he's the perfect 3c once he gets his faceoffs figured out.

Claude Giroux 2 years 8 mill, would that get it done? Wants a chance to win I'd say, would he come to NY? Would solve a lot of problems here.

He showed me more than enough skill in the most important part of the season.

He had some goals but those were mostly created by his linemates. That line was getting sheltered minutes, put him in the top 6 and he has to play against much better players. You can't declare him ready for more minutes because he had a handful of decent games in the playoffs vs the rest of his time here. The fact remains his hockey iq and vision is lacking, that's not to say i dont like him, i just think he is what he is and he can be an effective player on line 3 and thats great, there's nothing wrong with that. We take a giant step backwards if he's in our top 6. Lafreniere was really the revelation in playoffs even if Chytil was scoring more.

I did not say they disappeared but something was definitely going on with them and I think it was more than exhaustion. There were some plays vs Carolina that Fox did not give an effort. Against TB I saw CK stand still when the puck was 3 feet away on a play. It is possible it was just fatigue but I believe it was injury related. Points are great but they do not always tell a full story. Fox did great points wise but that does not mean he was moving normally vs Carolina.
