Elliotte Friedman wrote teams are looking at Kirby Dach. Teams are doing their work into what has gone on during the last three seasons in Chicago. The Hawks were on an ESPN+ game during the season. I think was against LA. Ray Ferraro was the analyst. I think Leah was doing the play by play. He thought Dach would be a really good 3rd line center/maybe a decent 2nd line guy. He wasn't sure how much offense there is in Dach's game.
Go watch the games Dach played when the Hawks were in the bubble. Looked awfully good to me.

He’s a guy I’m all in on.

Rather move that for a need which is a center. Let Jones get the 6th spot. No need for another defenseman making more than 3 mil. Rangers needs are centers. Stocking up on position that does not need much improvement and neglecting another need which is a need is just stupid asset management.
I keep reading this. What Center? At what cost? Is he strong defensively? or is he another 'type' of Strome or Chytil?

If we're sticking with defensively deficient Centers, why not just keep Chytil?

I would move Kakko for Dach and never think twice. Dach is also a lot more physical and a more complete player

I meant Dubois or Horvat. or someone with a good 2 way game. I would love Pavelski but Rangers missed that one since he resigned for 1 more year in Dallas. Dach for Kakko would be a good trade for both teams

Dubois doesn't have a strong 2way game.

Why not just sign Copp over giving up assets and a big extension to Horvat?

Larkin is the outlier.... but we missed that boat. Don't see anyway Detroit moves him

we're not keeping Lundkvist. One of them is going the other way
I fixed this for you

Malkin on a short term deal costing us no assets might be best path forward. I hate it. But also hate the thought of trading young assets for all these centers that are going to be free agents after this season or next
I’ve thought about this option a lot. You could be right.

Malkin on a 3 year deal just seems to make the most sense for the Rangers. He is a proven winner and producer. He wont cost us young assets. I hate the player but there is no denying what he can do on the ice even at his age, and i just don’t want to fork over assets that can be cheap ELC depth in the years to come.

I’m hoping Malkin is one of those guys I said who might be watching on TV an thinking about being the second line center on an ascending Stanley Cup contender.

We have a great one who we refused to play last year.
It is what it is. Gallant will lean on Vets over kids and size over skill. Chychrun fills his checklist though

So you would give Malkin 6.5 for 3 years?

They're still mad at David Shaw & Adam Graves for daring to slash Lemieux.
My hero.

Probably takes around $7.5, if that is enough. And I would rather that and have to worry about the money after this season later. Strong chance he starts each year on LTIR. He won’t play the full 82 each year. Maybe 60-65. You can save cap throughout the year there. Employ your kids as cheap ELCs over the next 2-3 years. Again, I cannot stand Malkin. Really dont like him. But it might be the best path forward.

If we win 2 Cups following that road map, I'm all in.
Ha I was going to post the same
