Think Lias Andersson will play on the fourth line without throwing a fit now?

I kid I kid...

I guess Andersson was an Andersson problem, not a NYR problem.

I feel like Lettieri could be a NHL player somewhere.
it was an NYR problem because our idiot scouts thought he was worth a top 7 pick. Idk why people are giddy that he plain out sucks, I would have preferred that he ended up being somewhat useful even somewhere else.

With the exception of Necas and Suzuki, most of the players drafted after Lias have struggled to make top 6 roles on their respective teams as well.

2017 just wasnt a very good draft
No it wasn’t , but there were still guys like Bob Thomas, Josh Norris, even Yamamoto would have been better

It's frustrating looking back and seeing that retiring Swedish scout being so excited to choose Lias and they let him annouce the pick, you definitely got the feeling that Lias was his guy.

It's not like it was just the Rangers though, he was ranked as a 10-20 range prospect virtually everywhere. Lias' problem was his footspeed in this era of hockey. If he were in the NHL late 90s-2010ish he could've had a nice career, could've been a Mike Richards type of guy. The game has just gotten too fast and being a fast enough skater is basically a requirement these days and if you're not going to be fast enough, you have to be smart enough to compensate a la a Derek Stepan type player. Lias doesn't seem to have figured it out.

Rangers have tried Kravtsov, Vesey, Goodrow, and Blais in the top 6 and it has not worked. I understand wanting to try what you have on board and with Vesey doing well early in camp, it was worth a shot.

I think at this point, the next logical step is to see what shakes free. Milano produced with Zegras. You're telling me he could produce in a similar role? I'd be on the phone now seeing if he could be had at 750K. It doesn't work, no harm, and you move on.

The next step really is breaking up the kids and getting Lafreniere and Kakko in the top 6. The 3rd line becomes a hodgepodge at that point. Chytil begins the search for wingers again. Is Kravtsov-Chytil-Blais a sustainable 3rd line? Move Chytil to wing and put Goodrow with him? Fil spent time with both last year, results were solid, but not exceptional.

Would signal the end of Kravtsov here. No way he gets through waivers. He might not have looked the best, but teams like Chicago, Arizona, etc that have roster holes would claim and hope to find the magic in a new place. If this is the plan, I think he is traded. A swap of guys that haven't worked out.

Means someone like Hunt makes the team as 4LW. Think Vesey gets the last spot over Gauthier.

Have a feeling this is the opening night lines:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere
Chytil-Goodrow-Blais
Hunt-Carpenter-Vesey
Reaves

Copied from the mains. Nothing new to see here I guess.

He’s not with the rangers anymore. Why would I care if he’s any good? The org that picked him isn’t here anymore for the most part. He was their failure.
