Why do they insist on playing Chytil at C? Just put him on the wing with Panarin and Trocheck and let Goodrow play the 3C. There's no reason why Vesey should be in the top-6.

Chytil makes a lot of sense on the second line but the bottom six struggles whenever he gets moved up the lineup. The man is a zone entry machine and can carry a third line. I don't know why Vesey is there instead of Laf though.

You heard it from Gallants mouth. As soon as he said Carpenter was a staple for the PK, it was RIP for Rydahl.

He was brought in to PK and play defense. At least he can do that effectively. He will be leaned on for those scenarios, which is fine.... lets just not go overboard with 12 minutes of icetimee.

No but I do think we need to keep in mind that he's with Panarin and a lot of the competition in preaseason games (both the opponents and the teammates these numbers are measured against) are non-NHLers.

I think Krav needs more chances to transition his game to NHL level to beat out Vesey. Sitting him does nothing.

The team wont fold if Vesey is replaced with Krav. So why not give the kid the minutes. We know what Vesey is already. We only have an idea of what Krav is.

The way I see it, when everyone is healthy, it should be one or the other.

I don't see Hunt making the team either. I think the fourth line is likely going to be

Vesey/Blais - Carpenter - Goodrow on most nights, with Reavo drawing in for Carpenter and Goodrow playing center when needed.

Rhydal makes the team if he's not waiver-exempt. We knew this was coming.

Kravtsov skating with the extras today. Probably a message from the coaching staff that he needs to step up his game, and stop taking for granted that he's being given the keys to 2RW. He'll be in the lineup on opening night.

It's as if he's quietly quitting.

To think he was the 'sticking point' for Gorton in that abomination of a trade.

The lines last night other than the Panarin line were fine.

That 3rd line with Laf-Chyil is designed to give them 12-13 minutes of ice time, where only Goodrow will get more because they'll move him up here and there, plus he'll play the PK.

The 4th line is going to be Blais hitting players until he gets hurt, and the other two being too slow to get anywhere. Reaves up ice hitting someone is good, him in his own zone trapped is bad no matter how good Carpenter is viewed defensively. Yeah 4 years ago back in Vegas maybe that worked, yet Reaves is 35 now.

It's the same thing they did last year except maybe Kakko ends up on the Zbad line, which if the other lines made sense would actually be a good thing. Yet if that does not work, Kakko gets demoted, for I'd guess Goodrow, and they go right back to giving the kid line 12-13 minutes.

I haven't seen him... I remember him saying he weighed around 270 in previous seasons... maybe I'm misremembering. If it's true though, that is way too heavy.
