I think the Rangers are at 48 contracts. So signing Vesey puts them at 49. Trading or losing someone to waivers would be a good thing probably.

Gauthier is a donezo. Gallant didn’t use him last year, he won’t this year, and I don’t blame him. Not enough jam or defensive awareness for bottom 6 and he can’t finish on a scoring line. Cut the bait.

Vesey has earned a spot. Weird to see it but he can be an effective depth forward and can score.

Carpenter is still the 4th line C. I’d be surprised if this changed.

Rydahl looks good but he’s still an unknown. I think they still keep hunt since Gallant loves him

If the plan is to give Rhydahl a month in the AHL to continue learning the small ice, I'm fine with it. He should be in the NHL in no time.

Vesey should make the team. No reason he shouldn't. He's a different player than the last one we saw in NY.

I don't see why Carpenter sticks unless it is as the 13th.

Goodrow played with Kreider and Zibanejad last year. Results were uninspiring. If the Kid Line is a thing, that is going to be a sore spot.

We all joked, but Vesey would be better than Goodrow there. So would Blais. I think Lafreniere is the best fit.

Vesey is making the team just for his PK ability. He's a much more complete player then his first time here. There will be times he's with Mika and Kreider, times he's with Trochek and Panarin. The Board will implode if Kravstov gets a game off or 4th lined. But it will happen.

He's going to protect leads. Injuries always happen. Etc.

Keeping Hunt is fine, he's an excellent 4th liner. I'd prefer Rydahl as well but carpenter has been a solid 4th liner as well throughout his career so it's understandable why they would keep him at least to begin the season and if he falters then go to Rydahl.

Im glad Vesey is better defensively now, but he was also able to chip in a little even strength offense back when he played on the third line and that would be very welcome here.!
