kid is gonna be out at least another week. Probably means no skating and no training? So figure considering the way he looked he should be physically capable NHL ready by playoff time...2027

It is absolutely worth remembering and learning from your mistakes so you don't make them again.

How to get Zegras.

And Lundell.

The people who try to shut down criticism of past mistakes usually have an ulterior motive, and in the case of the Buch trade, it's usually to protect the regime.
We, the people who post here, did not make the previous mistake. Therefore, we, the people who post here cannot make that mistake again. We have agreed that the buch trade was a bad deal. Acknowledge. We, on this forum, can do nothing to ensure a similar mistake is not made in the future. I have no reason to "protect" a regime. Personally, I thing overall Drury has done a good job. But that's neither her nor there. He will do what he does whether we rehash his past deals over and over and over and over, or not.

And the people who constantly bring it up are usually trying to criticize the regime. Its a two way street.

I'm a Drury fan but I can admit his first offseason was not handled well, in a time of turmoil for the organization, post-Wilson incident. Since then I'd say he's done a great job. Fox & Mika extensions both lower than market, he nailed the trade deadline, then recouped picks for Georgiev (which seemed impossible) and Lundkvist. The Trocheck signing is also already paying off. Bridging Kakko for the next 2 years before the cap goes up seems savvy as well.

The next big test is the Miller/Laf/Chytil extensions. We'll see if he can continue the solid work he's done post Buch trade.

Kravtsov one of the worst physical showings of a 22 y/o NHL prospect I can remember seeing
He regressed.

He needs to start Squatting and Deadlifting, He probably saw Panarin, a wirey guy and thought you could be built like a Child and succeed. Panarin is very strong for his size and way more elusive.

Well I think part of the function of a message board is that the fans take the positions of "what they would have done" if they were in charge.

If academic discussion is the only point then the activity on these boards would dry up to a trickle.

Advocacy of what should be done, which implies analysis of past moves, is the lifeblood of an internet discussion forum.

How much of this is caused by his lack of playing in games for the past year as well? When he came over and had his 20 game stint he did not look nearly as fragile.

There are guys who miss full seasons with serious injuries who play less and come back looking better/ less fragile than Kravtsov has.

This is 100% on lack of preparation during the summer. I can forgive some rust with his hands or even being foggy with in game processing but the lack of strength/zip in his step is entirely on him.

Which is the crazy part. It looks like a bantamweight going up against light heavyweights.

It's blatantly obvious he's physically overmatched. He regressed that much?

I find nothing more boring than reading what fans “would have done” over and over and over. It gets repetitive, proves nothing and serves no purpose. At some point it’s as stale as day old bread. One season later it’s more like rotten fish.

Buchnevich was a losing player with 1 career playoff point in 8 games as a Ranger. Why would we have wanted to keep a guy who couldn't perform when it mattered anyway?

How to get Jack Hughes:popcorn:
Looks like “Sleepless in Seattle” drama? Shane Wright controversy:
Grandparents and Parents flew in to Seattle for a week where Kraken had three home games; Shane a healthy scratch for all 3 games. Relatives flew home.
There were unsubstantiated allegations floating around just before the draft and right after the draft involving social media which I can not post here without risking a mod warning but they can be looked up on google easily enough.
Through in that Brennan Othmann is one of his best buds…
Who knows what the future holds (?)

Interesting but Seattle isn't letting him go for pennies on the dollar and I'm not sure overpaying for another attitude problem is wise.

Only to get a better return at a later date.

If the best the league could do was Blais and a 2nd that seems like the league didn't value Buch all that highly.

Kupari and a 1st is equal to that. LA has like 5 youngsters (all centers afaik) all hitting waivers next year because it's not easy to flip kids for equal value. They still can't trade them! They're gonna lose at least 2 of JAD, kupari, Thomas, Madden, and Turcotte for nothing. Byfield is a slug. Lias got waived. Even when you have 7-8 highly drafted centers the only one making it is playing left wing.

Yes 8 games playing at the time on the 3rd line of mediocre ranger teams is a great sample size. You do know that Buch improve quite a lot between that last playoff game and when he got trade, right?

Triple thumbs up

Tough position for Kravtsov and kind of a strange comment from GG. Kravtsov is fighting for a roster spot and trying to dispel the impressions given off by his bolting to Russia, twice. Of course he's going to want to do more "stuff and things", especially playing limited minutes with no PP time. If he went in soft on plays like that people would just criticize him for being soft and selfish.

Hoping Will Cuylle will put the "Buch Bimbos" to bed 4 ever.

I thought we had only one "Webster". Wrong there.

Maybe HF can do and individual player fan page.

Pom pom emoji already supplied.

The Buchnevich trade and Nemeth signing were terrible moves. But as someone stated earlier, Drury has been very good since then. He did an excellent job at the deadline, and got a 1st for Lundkvist. He did well in FA this year adding a few vet min guys, moved Georgiev for a good price despite the likelihood of non-tender, made up with Kravtsov, got Kakko at a good price, and upgraded Strome at a similar price point with Trocheck. There's no point in lamenting the failure to trade Kreider and the mishap of Buch - Kreider scored 50 goals last year and the Buch trade is done. I think Drury has shown that he holds out for what he wants with the Georgiev and Lundkvist moves. He's not afraid to be bold but he's also tempered. I think he'll end up one of the better GMs in the league.

I'd take the first even without Kupari.

I'd rather read "what I would do" than 20-20 hindsight that never ends.
