Are we ever going to scratch reaves?
I like reaves but he absolutely needs to sit. He looks worn out already. He should play 50 games this season. 50 impactful games.

call rydahl

him and reaves would be a heavy duo to face
Would love to see that at some point but the roster and cap is a problem.
I think Rydahl will eventually get a regular lineup spot but it’ll be after a serious injury or trade. It’ll be him coming up for good.

That would be great. I am dying to see a full lineup, finally.
13-93-24
10-16-74
20-72-12
91-21-75/26

I know they won’t do this but i think those lines work well stylistically. Particularly that third line. North-south with speed. The fourth line will punish the opponent.

The potential is there for that top line to be the deadliest line in hockey.

Let's. Go.

As much as we want to see that, he’s not breaking up the BFs.

They are the matchup line. He goes to Kreider Mika for everything. I’ll be shocked if he breaks them up long term.

Panarin Zibs Kreider
Laffy Tro Kakko
Vesey Chytil Goodrow

That’s an effective forechecking 3rd line. Surprisingly put up decent metrics in limited time but it’s worth trying

Either way, I don't see him changing much... besides his favorite whipping boy... Laffy. I could see him dropped form that line to play with Chytil when he returns

Gotta avoid being a 2-line team. Keep the PP how it is, and it doesn't really matter which line players are on, as lines 1-3 have been getting roughly equal ESTOI.

I'd roll with:

Laf--Zib--Kakko
Panarin--Tro--Kravtsov
Kreider--Chytil--Goodrow
4th line

If Krav doesn't cut it there, put Blais in that spot. Bread and Trochek can carry that line. Chytil and Kreider have worked well in the past, and both Ws give some coverage at the dot if Chytil's having an off night on draws.

I would like to see laf zib Kk
But
Im not sure Mika can commit long term to cycling the puck.
I still think long term Chytil is the best fit with laffy and Kk

Chytil left practice, and didnt come on the trip. Hes still not 100%.

Update on how the Rangers have fared since those articles dropped:

1-2-2
-6 goal differential
PP 3/20
Laf & Kakko a combined 2 points

Clawing back!

Gotta love hearing this from the youngsters

@MollieeWalkerr (doing a great job btw):

Zac Jones was up-front in admitting he didn't like his game recently.

"I thought I deserved to get scratched...It is what it is. I took it as a great learning experience. It's the NHL, it's business...I understand that sometimes hard decisions have to be made."

Julien Gauthier on his mindset when he was assigned to AHL Hartford to start season:

"I'm not really a quitter. I know I can play in the NHL, so I took on more of a mentality of getting more reps, getting more ice time and working on my game.I didn't really pout or anything. I wanted to get back up here as soon as possible."

Update on how the Rangers have fared since those articles dropped:
2-2-2
-5 goal differential
PP 4/23
Laf & Kakko a combined 3 points

Moving on up to the east side!

The Rangers should have the kids play on two lines. There are three TV timeouts per period. Power play minutes. PK minutes. The kids don't play much on special teams.

Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere
Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko

Lafreniere-Chytil-Kakko

Let the first unit play the full two minutes on the PP. The kid line is the next line.

Chytil can play with Goodrow and whatever slug deemed worthy of more minutes when he isn’t playing with Lafreniere and Kakko.

The fourth line will be composed of Carpenter, Vesey, Gauthier, Blais, Reaves, etc. Goodrow plays on the 4th when the kids are together.

The Rangers are paying Gallant $3.5M per. Figure it out.

That’s what they were doing the first few games before Chytil got hurt.
