Yes that is true. We would end up with their next years pick no matter what so we would still get a 1st rounder out of them. My point just was if they're THAT bad to consider selling Pavelski (the never sold Klingberg when playoffs weren't guaranteed), they would ask for our 1st instead of theirs because they'd already be getting theirs back. If Jim Nill traded for the pick he was already slated to get back that would be a fireable offense would be basically giving Pavelski away for nothing hahaha.I could be wrong, but the way those conditions were described to me it was my understanding that if this year's draft pick gets returned for being top 10, we will get their 1st the following year no matter what.
So we'd end up with 0 1st rounders this year, although we would have 2 next year. If Pavelski helps win cup, its all moot point to the naysayers of moving 1sts when you're contending. To me, if Pavelski is available, get him. Guys legit.
