If Hunt is waived again the Rangers get first dibs and the ability to drop him right in the AHL. I doubt Colorado will hold on to him all year in the NHL. Perhaps Hunt will be the Rangers spy for the Stanley Cup Finals when they meet

Foolish premature move. It woulda sorted out Already had non IR injuries to 91, 74, 22 since PS games began. Next injury could LTIR. Need depth, and depth guys, to win. Sakic knows that. He just won a Cup w Jack Johnson on roster.

But we have depth. The difference between playing Gauthier or Brodz compared to Hunt is pretty minimal. $4 million in potential cap space though could be massive for the team

Ryhdal > Hunt based on the small sample size of the preseason. I would assume he's the first call up if needed followed by Brodz. All very capable 4th line players.

I kinda liked Hunt but I don't think this is a big deal either. He was a depth player, hopefully the Rangers have other depth players they can replace him with.

Should have been Hajek going through waivers though (I know I know, they don't really have a good callup option at the moment)
