not sure if this was shared but this is a pretty epic/intense picture from last night
Don't worry he'll be 20 then.I can’t help but roll my eyes at the just laughable thought of inserting 19 year old Othmann into the lineup going into the playoffs lol
I mean what planet are we living on where anyone thinks that will happen
I imagine Panarin would move into the bumper spot and Kane would take the right wall.Is Kane playing on the Rangers first PP unit? No.
Chris Kreider spoke to Larry Brooks about the righty vs lefty on the PP with Trocheck replacing Strome.
Zac Jones’ power play specialty may not be enough to overcome Rangers impediments
The question becomes whether Jones has enough value at even-strength to include him on the roster, let alone pencil him in as a third pair defenseman.nypost.com
The Rangers are changing their PP set up after the first five months of the season to accommodate Kane?
Where will Kane play? Zibanejad is lined up on the left side and Panarin is lined up on the right side. Kreider is the net front presence. Fox is at the point. The Rangers want a righty playing the bumper. Kane is a lefty.
The power play setup works. Everyone knows what the Rangers are trying to do. The Rangers find a way to execute their PP.
Othmann could be available when his team is knocked out of the playoffs. Flint is expected to go deep though. We should also wait to see what we actually need. If the team is playing out of its mind for most of the season then we might just need a 3rd line Winger.
EDIT- Is there any way Othmann is available for a playoff run after his season?
He could have easily made the team over Kravtsov. If VK has a meh season then why wouldn’t we insert Othmann? He’s exactly what we need and he wouldn’t have the pressure of top 6 minutes/production.I can’t help but roll my eyes at the just laughable thought of inserting 19 year old Othmann into the lineup going into the playoffs lol

Blais and a 2nd for ROR? I'm down. Here’s a crazy thought. Blues on the bubble and we pry away ROR at the deadline, move Chytil to RW for the rest of the season and playoffs. MONSTER center depth right there.
Agreed but with how things are projecting (I know it’s only two games) and already having 2 1sts our best move is to move Kravtsov+ at the deadline for whatever we are lacking. I don’t see any need for him after this season with Othmann coming up.Taking Lafreniere and/or Kakko out of the top 6 to accommodate Kane would be meme level Rongos.
If Laf and Kakko stick in the top six there's no reason to pay a ransom for a Kane. Just reevaluate how effective the depth is and add depth.

Isn't an easier solution to the Kravtsov situation just to see if Seattle would consider exchanging Shane Wright for him? I think they're beginning to understand why he fell in the draft. He played 6:14 in Seattle's first game. No powerplay time. No shot's on goal. In game two he was a healthy scratch. Clearly there is something the Seattle coaching staff doesn't like about his game. They already have their 1C of the future in Matt Beniers so he's not crucial to their success. He could be a potential replacement for Chytil if we can't afford his next contract.
What? No he could not have easily made the team lol. They didn’t even give him the 9 games, and he looked awful in the last game he played before the sent him back to Flint. He could have easily made the team over Kravtsov. Had NHL Radio on before and Morgan Frost was giving an interview. He said that the hardest thing regarding " game translation " from junior to pro is NOT "strength, conditioning or speed ".
He said the hardest thing to adjust and learn is "time with the puck".
In other leagues ( junior in his case) you have that full second second and a half, where in the NHL you have half a second, maybe less to make the right play.
You have to be able to make plays in milliseconds.
There is no time or room on NHL ice.
He also spoke about Torts practices. Nobody gers players in better shape that that dude.
I found it an interesting interview.
2023 class is something else.
Another K Miller, Kreider, Chytil, Schneider, etc could help them. I like the chances if they have two 1sts.I'd rather take the (potential) 2 firsts we have this year and trade up in the 2023 draft than to trade it for what almost never helps teams win cups.
If we stay put I’d like to swing for the fences with a Center and then grab another D.Another K Miller, Kreider, Chytil, Schneider, etc could help them. I like the chances if they have two 1sts.
