Watch Eichel's work ethic on the Flyers first goal today and tell me that's a player you want to sell the farm to acquire.

Hitler shot himself towards the very end of the war but he did give it his very best. Eichel is in the same boots. It's an absolute disaster in Buffalo, I don't blame him. Jeff Skinner being scratched is speculated to be an ownership tactic to get Skinner to waive his trade protection. If so, they are literally mentally torturing one of the nicest guys on their team.

What’s a realistic package fans would be comfortable with for Eichel

This seems like the end of the road for him in Buffalo
I don't think any Eichel deal will cost one of Kakko/Laf/Miller. It's just my speculation, but there's no historical comparison in the cap era where a team parted with top-end, cost controlled talent for a player making 10-12% of the overall salary cap. Not that Eichel isn't worth that, but there's just no precedence for it happening, and probably for good reason. I think the COL/OTT Duchene deal is probably as close as we'll get to a comp.

Operating under the assumption that they don't want Zibanejad, I think the deal would be some combo of Chytil/Kravstov, Nils/Robertson/Jones/Schneider, Strome (for cap), 2021/2022 1st/2nds. Maybe a sweetener prospect like Pajuniemi/Berard/Vierling/Henriksson/Raunanen if it's really that close and one of these guys pushes it across the finish line.

I also don't think Gorton parts with Chytil, given our current center depth. And I think he'd be hard pressed to include Nils if it's a huge value package already. I just included them in my speculation because I'm sure they would be a focal point for Buffalo.

Dear diary

Today I saw hitler compared to jack eichel.

Considering moving off the grid and never opening another web browser in my life

No I compared their efforts. People always misconstrue my very clear analogies.

I don't really think they're a Jack Eichel away from making noise, considering what it would cost. I kind of look at it as a way of necromancing last year's Mika.

Even the pick next year is probably going to be top 10. I'd be fine with leading the package with K'Andre, Nils, Shesty or the pick, but I wouldn't want to move two of those pieces and I wouldn't want to move Fox, Kakko or Laffy.

Why does Jack Eichel look like his dog died in every other highlight? What I mean is -- when we traded for Trouba and Nash and other players that wanted a change of scenery they weren't dogging it. I feel like Jack Eichel should be in that Nate Mckinnon phase of his career where he can practically take over games when he wants to. I mean, that's why you pay someone 10m a year. And if he's pouting (which it really feels like he is) and he's not really taking over games. Is it really worth the assets and the cap space? Will he disappear when the going gets tough? I just worry about his mental makeup in a way that I didn't worry about others that have forced their way out.

Because I tell you what... if we trade for him and for some reason in a few years he starts to not want to be in NY, he will be a pain to move and not worth having all those young assets.

If you trade Chytil Lundkvist and (Beniers) For Eichel is that worth it two years from now?

Hmmm well if Panarin never plays another game for the NYR :sarcasm: There is your money to go and get Eichel.

I just hope he has a long playoff run in KHL. Keep him away from the big club for now. I guess he can play in Hartford after his KHL season? I just don't wanna rush him or Nils or any of other prospects for that matter. Let them marinate as long as possible.
Brooks says in the article there's no way the Rangers bring him over and send him to Hartford.

Ugh. Gonna have to hear about Wahlstrom scoring at about a point every other game and Kravtsov a point every 10 games while one gets pp time with good players and the other is Howden's winger.
