Richards he already done more good things in this game than Howden has all season

pretty sure we won’t be seeing Howden and PDG next year as long as theirs a new coach

Gauthier only stays of Kravtsov is dealt

Hajek wasn’t bad this year overall but with so many kids signed hes likeky a goner too IMO

Also, let’s be brutally honest here, there must be some kind of accountability installed — around — this team.

The agenda cannot be set by people who watch this team every game and think the only problem with Dave Quinn is how he uses Colin Blackwell and that we take a too many men penalty once in a while. Then you just have no clue whatsoever what hockey and the NHL is about. Still, it’s people at this level that sets the agenda around this team. So much is wrong with the direction Quinn has taken this team, obvious rift between the top players and the coach, total lack of installing any kind of winning mentality, we have had no strategy whatsoever re the two highest pick (almost) ever.

It’s kind of like Montesquieu‘s separation of powers thinking. You have players and management. But where is the third pillar? Like the reporters around this team is a total joke in relation to what actually goes on, on the ice.

Edit: Like don’t get me wrong, I have no problem whatsoever that there is a bunch of fans at this place that have various opinions on everything. That is not the issue here, the issue is that the people other people listen to, is just way way way to clueless. How many of the reporters would have said that most was fine in ranger land two weeks ago? Despite it being — super — obvious that we had big big issues in too many areas.

It's inevitable, but the tweet was misinterpreted. It's his 3 year anniversary, not an extension.

Yeah, look we are really marinated in this. Our strongest response — of which our coach “couldn’t be more proud” — largely constituted of dropping the gloves with Carl Hagelin and Lars Eller, and basically not being able to do any damage.

If anyone want to hurt a rival long term you just take runs against our top guys like Martin did with Trouba. If you want to throw us of our game, go after Ziba and Panarin. You risk absolutely nothing.

Nothing short of an over-correction will suffice.

In addition, while the league is getting super soft overall — the teams around aren’t, NYI and Washington. We must be able to go toe to toe with them physically, to restore whatever chance we ever have of becoming respectable again.
Honestly, if we were just a better team and some guys fought unimportant fights then we beat them handily in an important game after the Wilson hit would anyone care about physicality? There is no deterring Wilson, Martin etc. Making big moves based on that is a big waste of time, energy and likely cap space. Nobody is “doing damage” in an NHL officiated fights outside of cases of particularly bad dumb luck. The team needs to be heavier and tighter just to play good hockey but overcorrecting to try to add fighters is a waste

The 3rd pillar in full phallic metaphor is Dolan

Nah, it’s past that, our weakness in this area affects all our players negatively. Just look at Lindgren after the AO hit. After Boston went after him. It’s not fun, he wasn’t enjoying himself. It spreads and is rooted with so many players. Laf was chippy to start the season, that is long gone.

When you play us, everyone feel like they are the king of the world. Our guys has the mentality of someone walking home alone at night and all of a sudden a gang stops you and things become unpleasant. We need to repair our identity. That takes an over-correction. Then eventually we can of course go the route you suggest. But we need to establish that identity first.

If the rangers are seriously considering an Eichel trade I’d do something like

Zib+Miller/Jones/Lundkvist+2021st

for

Eichel @ 50%
If we are somehow getting Buffalo to retain 25% can we fit him and Zib in?

Buch, Chytil, Jones, 1st, another prospect? Strome? for Eichel 25% retained

Laf-Zib-Krav
Panarin-Eichel-Kakko
or move Kreider to RW
Grab a FA Center or Strome moved for someone.

The way Mika is responding to the questions really sounds like he's being dealt 100% :(

"I'll have answers for you guys in a couple of days" ... ok

We could get a great haul for him or Zibs + nothing too crazy for Eichel ... ugh.

I'll say that if, big IF, they're able to get CK to waive for Seattle or elsewhere than trading for Eichel is a little more reasonable

It’s not only that Ola, you are correct but when teams play the rangers and win, shit embarrass us even it’s a big moral victory for them. NYR is on top of the mountain, whether we are rebuilding or not even bad teams come out playing with their best at us. We are a target. Much like the leafs. That’s why when I complain about the constant lack of effort and heartless robotic play it’s vital to have that NY attitude. We lost a lot of it when we lost ADA. It’s not just his offense on the backend. It’s that big swinging dick come and get it brashness that this team needs night in and night out whether we’re the youngest or oldest team in the league.
Teams need guys that stick up for each other, play bigger on the ice when they are on the team, it’s important knowing that if the shit goes down they have your back. Every team I have ever played for, you take a shot at one of mine I’m coming for 2 of yours. It’s severely lacking here for 2 seasons now

Not fighters. But adding a Goodrow, a Schneider, and a Robertson to what we currently have is a good foundation. I like that Barron is a big kid that will be a little choppy too. It brings the more aggressive side out of the rest of the guys
