Bc the organization said one more issue and you're gone and he did something so they kept to their word. If your boss tells you you have one more chance or your fired and you do something wrong but they don't fire you then they lose all credibility in the future as everything will appear to be empty threats. How would that lack of following through on your word reverberate down to all the other young kids in the organization? It would render direction from the organization to players as irrelevant and disciple out the window. He's incredibly talented but he was warned and he chose not to listen.

To me, this really comes down to what he said to Georgiev. I cant imagine that FO really intended that Deangelo never criticize a teammate for their play or else he gets traded.

So if Deangelo did not cross an objective line in his criticism of Georgiev's bungle, are we to believe that Deangelo's "last straw" was getting accosted by a hotheaded Georgiev?

What purpose does that serve, except to hurt our roster?

clearly Fox is the only good PP quarterback we have so why not give Reunanen a shot on PP also?

Two distinctions here: 1) a history of using racist slurs supports the narrative (now discounted) that Deangelo would haze a Black teammate like Miller. A history of using ethnic slurs against a Caucasian teammate doesnt support the same.

2) Too many journalists were lazy and speculative in their inaccurate reporting. A homophobe should be called out for being homophobic. A racist should be called out for being racist. A racist who is not a homophobe shouldn't be called out for being homophobic.

And an ethnic slur is vastly different than racial slur. This was a White child saying an ethnic slur about another White child, stuff like calling Euro players soft, joking that Tony loves the Olive Garden etc are ethnic insults. Ethnic tends to be about customs and culture and not the color of your skin. Like Don Cherry got away with making all sorts fo xenophobic ethnic remarks about soft Euro players, if he said something about Black players that would obviously be in another stratosphere. Those denying that and continuing to bash Tony as racist are obviously intellectually dishonest as they’re coming from the side that always talks about the importance of “power dynamics” when discussing stuff like this and claim that racism against White people doesn’t exist.

People act as if Tony is a neonazi and that he was racially abusing a Black kid like Mitchell Miller did or something. There is zero evidence of anything of the sort, and countless evidence to the contrary.

I think Miller could be one in the future, he’s really good at carrying the puck into the zone and has the skating ability like Tony, that Fox kinda lacks. But Miller is still raw and isn’t as poised calm and collected on the blueline yet. I wouldn’t mind Miller on the 2nd PP and blast Trouba into the sun, if we’re talking down the like Zac Jones & Nils Lundkvist should be great on the PP

True although it depends on what it was, which we’ll never know.

Like I think almost everyone would agree that calling someone the N word is definitely worse than calling an Irish teammate a mick or an Italian a goomba or things like that.

I think Tony has serious issues with maturity and anger and controlling his emotions. I also think due to his social media use and outspoken beliefs along with his past incidents that people have wanted to brand him as a racist. I think Tony deservedly wore out his welcome due to behavioral issues here with the Rangers and his inability to mature and keep his emotions in check. I don’t necessarily think that means he is an unabashed racist.

I think this a far more nuanced issue than most people on both sides of the issue would care to admit.

There is interest from teams but no team is willing to take a chance because of the social media blacklash from the hordes of people calling him a racist puck stealing black hating bully thanks to rumors that have been spread. Cmon, we're 2 weeks into this and people are still playing stupid and saying "WELL IF HES SO INNOCENT WHY DOESNT HE HAVE A JOB?"

Robert Burtuzzo and Zach Sanford fought each other 2 years ago and are both teammates today. So sorry for not believing that and his disdain on social media is all that caused him getting waived and if it is our management have issues

Nothing will help you understand what people are saying is the cause for his dismissal if you have been able to read posts from posters "defending" Tony for 2 weeks if this is still the conclusion you draw.

First post here. Long time lurker

I’m surprised at what’s going on. The youngsters will take on the personality of their “leaders”. When Kreider and Zibanejad are those supposed guys were in trouble. JD is the boss and he’s an old school guy, but he fired a loud, obnoxious VERY TALENTED player in ADA and alllows Kreider and Zibanejad to be completely ineffective and to play with no passion.

Yestaerday as soon as the Trouba hit and scuffle happened, Kreider checked out. He was done. At one point Kakko was face washed and roughed up behind the Bruin net with Kreider 5 feet away.......he just watched. You think Marchand or Bergeron would have done the same if it was Pasta? Zibby is a soft, shell of a human. Yes very talented but a joke physically.
Yet the Rangers CHOOSE to have these guys lead while getting rid of ADA because he’s loud and obnoxious

last night ADA would have helped the PP and cracked some skulls

100% agree with this. We need Tony on the PP and it's JG's fault for announcing it to the world that he won't ever play for the Rangers again without having some type of deal aligned.

I know many have different opinions and loved the way it was handled but I absolutely despised the way it played out. Georgiev is just a backup which can be replaced as well in my opinion. What happened to keeping everything in the locker room? Shesterkin is the future, not Georgie.
