So the wife really could go on waivers at any time?Debatable. I might sacrifice the wife for McDavid, the dogs are too cute so they stay. Unborn kids are 50/50

Agreed, but taking it a step further, he got penalized early on with some questionable calls and he’s been a target for the refs ever since. Someone needs to teach him to be a bit more subtle to disguise his his approach when hitting someone.I think this is correct. Kreider seems like a legitimately good person, and I bet he really didn’t like being painted as a villain early in his career.
I’ve seen him lay off on so many opportunities to really physically damage someone in a legal way and he never follows thru. These plays always lead me to think that he’s laying off on purpose so as to not feed into that reputation.
Will be interesting to see him address this when his career is over.
I just hope gorton doesn’t immediately hang up if a team asks about Kreider’s availability at the deadline.Ok. You think Chris is a 40 point player for at least the next few years a I think he's a 35 point player for at least the next few years. You think he's about a mill overpaid and I think hes about 2 mill overpaid. Both agree its too long. Gotcha.
I agree. I just wanted Kreider and and others to step up their physicality because the other team wanted to destroy us.It almost sounds like you're describing the youngest team in the league coming out of a 3-year rebuild with huge veteran turnover and a bunch of new rookie or 2nd year teammates trying to find their identity...
My sarcasm is for 2 reasons - 1) because you're definitely right and 2) so am I...we (as a fan base) are entitled to frustration, but I think we also need to be more patient and let the process work. The "rebuild" isn't over yet. Maybe phase 1 of trimming the fat and injecting draft picks/prospects into the system is over. But now we have to let these kids learn and grow now. And growing pains are a real thing, as we're experiencing first-hand right now. But the overall level of play this season has been encouraging and the top young talented guys seem to be finding their games.
Yes, we lost the last 2 games. But we also gave highly competitive, hard-fought efforts against a perennial Cup contender. We arguably could/should have even won 1 of them if it hadn't been for stellar goaltending. From a rebuilding perspective, that's a win in my book.

I like this but I think I’d move Rooney to center laf and Kakko. Just to see, if not use Strome. Is this the thread for line combos as well?
What does everyone think of putting Kreider on the third line, putting Panarin on the first line, and keeping Laf-Strome-Kakko next game? I thought they looked good in that first period before a defensive juggernaut shut down the entire team.
Gorton isn’t looking to trade Kreider
if only we could do that. lolSo the wife really could go on waivers at any time?

lots of interesting stuff in here and interesting to hear about Staal’s thoughts on the situation.
Fake it until you make it, build your team up to someday get there or improve. Telling them they are young, aren't men / tough publicly isn't the way I would manage.
Usual damage-control PR BS article, tbh
100% fluff, no actual content
You mean Gorton can enjoy a top line LW on a less than market rate contract? Why, yes he canOr maybe no team in the entire league would take that guy and his salary. Gorton can enjoy him and his 45 points a year.
Because it wasn't just that. He was getting hot with the staff.Brooks article was really interesting, but if it is really just some inflammatory tweets and a post-game fight with Georgy, I can't see why he wouldn't be back on the team. The article makes it seem like Gorton is being somewhat unreasonable in his last straw thing. I personally have never had an issue with putting politics aside to root for Tony as a Ranger. And I would guess his teammates would feel the same. This still just feels like a part of a larger puzzle. Because if this is really all it is, one incident and some tweets -- it's an overreaction on NYR management's part. One poor asset management.
