The game started to become a man’s game and, listen, they have more men than we do. That’s just a fact,” said David Quinn, who probably could have used a little bit better phraseology there. “But I liked the way we stood up, we didn’t back down, we kept playing, and they get a goal we were not able to get.

This should boast morale

Which one is more likely: JD and JG don't want Gallant or Gallant doesn't want to coach here?
I'm not sure Gallant could even fix Kreider....or want him around. What a waste of a player and Cap and the letter A . Kreider should be playing another sport besides hockey . He likely would be a great pro bowler !!!

I like PDG but he should get scratched when Panarin is back

I doubt Howden does until Chytil returns

I see the point Quinn is trying to make. We are the youngest team in the league. the size difference of two years on guys like kakko and Miller will be huge VS a veteran Boston team.

the positivity of the situation is this: it was a great “character building” game. The game last night was brutal playoff style hockey games. The Rangers young players on a whole handled it really well. They were scrappy. The stood up to boston’s aggression. And They stood up for each other.

Kakko looked engaged. Laf had legitimate chances but can’t buy a goal. Hajek looked solid. Milller looks like a veteran. Fox looks cerebral. So much good stuff.

Oh, and Kreider looked disinterested. And zib looked clumsy. But you know, not at all unexpected.

Gauthier continues to impress me and IMO deserve more ice time. The kid is an absolute load and his strength is something we need.

Kaako has been a revelation and you can clearly see his development before your eyes. It’s confidence but his strength is a big difference maker. He’s out muscling guys at 19. He reminds me so much of Wheeler.

I cant stand DQ but I get what he was trying to say with that quote. Just not phrased well after a loss.

The other thing is we are not here for any moral victories at this point. Great, 95% of out Losses have been by 1 goal. But at the end of the day its still a loss.

The team has regressed offensively. The PP has been the biggest culprit. Last year the PP1 carried the success. What are the differences? This year there is no DeAngelo, Zibanejad is underperforming, and to a lesser extent so is Panarin. So when the players struggle, who takes charge here? Does the PP coach step in and be a coach? I would love to give a coach credit, but I just dont see it here. I dont think Oliver deserves any credit for the PP success last year and now when push comes to shove and he has to get it right, its not happening. All they have done is rotate one guy really, in and out of the 1st unit. The personnel is basically the same and the in zone set up is the same. They arent taking enough shots. Too passive. When you are struggling you need to throw shots on net.

Frustrating thing is they have had a lot of PPs lately and they could have been the difference in the game.

Fire Oliver. Fire Quinn. Thats really where I’m at

So what’s a realistic package for Crosby.

One little bright spot from last night was Quinn finally speaking with Goat directly on the bench. Most games I don't believe Quinn knew Goat was playing.

Maybe just maybe this will lead to more ice time--Could Quinn maybe gaining just a little trust in the kid.

I've said it for a while give the kid a chance with Breadman and Strome--big body in the front of the net could be shades of CK standing in front tipping the puck.

Loved seeing GOAT take that air craft carrier body to the net.

KK is improving in every aspect of his game. Skating is whats holding him back some. Love everything else.

Our penalty killing has been excellent.

So glad Buch had such an awesome camp and practices
Cause he's not been good in the games.

Igor was very good. I liked the whole defenses game tbh. Glad to see Libor doing well. Gaps are good.

Kreids spit on the ice and made a mad face before skating off the ice. Yay.

Quinn thought Stromer played well. Hmm. K.

PP cost us this game. Not Igor's flub.

Nite all.
The hate for Kreider on this board is over the top. The problem with this team and has been for years is lack of skill at the center position. Listen we lost the Cup finals to the Kings a few years ago because they were far better than us in the middle and ironically that was probably the best set of centers we have had since. Sorry if you want to pick on somebody go after Zibs. You can't have a number 1 center playing like this for this long. After that Howden stinks. How many times last night did a freakin pass go off his stick. As for Strom if DQ thought he played well then its time for both of them to go together. The kids played well but will continue to be held back until we get some competent guys playing center... and this team will continue to struggle to score.

But he can jump out of pools!

Chris seems to be a 4- 4.5 mill 35 point winger in my mind. He's 30 now right?

I like Chris even with the mocks but he's a power forward who got his contract and the went to a hockey school run by the Dalai Lama.

Anybody do a Kreids for Fast straight up lol?

Marc Staal 2 goals in 3 games lmao.

Pionk playing lights out and scores a beautiful wraparound goal yest.

Del Zotto scores too!

Boys in blue? Not so much.

I'll take a shot off the post right now.

no its not. The lovefest by some on kreiders potential was always over the top on this board.

kreider is an avg second liner to elite third liner. Yet he got a dumb contract that we will never live up to and will frankly probably cause use to lose a better player than him.

he has always looked disinterested in about 0% of games that he plays. But then he goes and plays like 4 amazing games in a row to say “look what i can be” and then disappears the rest of the month.

he is infuriating to watch. All the physical tools in the world, but the iq of an 8 yr old.
