The Brooks article serves two purposes IMO:
1. It's a message to other teams around the league orchestrated by team and agent to make Tony look apologetic, contrite and to clear the air. Having quotes from Staal in there with his "guys in Detroit are real interested in him" makes that kind of clear.
2. It's a way to quote unquote "soften the blow" when they realize that he actually brings a lot on the ice that they desperately need right now and they give Tony "one more chance."
3. f*** Adam Herman

Quinn is a loser. He has a loser mentality. He gives too much respect to the opponents. I don’t care how good Boston is or how well coached and structured the Islanders are, your coach shouldn’t justify losing to them. He shouldn’t accept it and think it’s okay, even if the logic tracks, because that type of mindset trickles down to the players.
I honestly don't think that any club in our division is a whole lot better than the Rangers if everybody came to play and left it all on the ice....how many games have we had like that this season ? When you get 3-5 guys every game going through the motions. ..usually the same guys...but NOT always .....don't expect wins unless the PP is working or a goalie stood on his head . There are no easy games anymore .

The team just have to start believing in each other and stepping up with some extra effort and battling hard in the corners and the crease and finishing their damn checks at every opportunity possible . Our coach HAS to get this message through to some guys....and if they don't listen...they have to go . We CAN'T let the old Ranger way find it's way into these young kids.....that falls to the leaders...then Quinn and then Gorton . Somebody best soon get the message out there as Tony is not around to be the scapegoat anymore .

I think this is correct. Kreider seems like a legitimately good person, and I bet he really didn’t like being painted as a villain early in his career.

I’ve seen him lay off on so many opportunities to really physically damage someone in a legal way and he never follows thru. These plays always lead me to think that he’s laying off on purpose so as to not feed into that reputation.

Will be interesting to see him address this when his career is over.
Like that big hit Nick Ritchie put on K'Andre last night. Doesn't need to run him over but still blasts him. Kreider is just as big and much faster. He has opportunities to do that every single game, and like you said chooses not to. I agree about the reputation thing, dude is a gentleman and a scholar  If he was a mean dude he could be a destroyer

Ultimately TDA made his bed, but I'll repeat that I still believe a stronger room and a better coach and this shitshow doesn't happen. We lost an ultra talented, fiery player over bullshit. I couldn't care less about fake politics, people wanna hate that kid so badly.
the amount of people who desperately want to hate ADA is limited only by your imagination

We lost the guy because he didn't do what was asked of him despite being warned. What would it say about the coach, the room and the organisation if they told him to knock it off and then didn't follow through when he didn't?

If he didn't get suspended every time he breathed hard on somebody as a kid, maybe he would still be blasting guys. Maybe, but really I am not sure the Rangers have ever developed a player with a true mean streak in the last 20-30 years.

According to that Brooks piece

DeAngelo is not any of that stuff or none of the stuff was that bad,

and

The Rangers did what they did and they were correct in doing so.

How does that work?
Bc the organization said one more issue and you're gone and he did something so they kept to their word. If your boss tells you you have one more chance or your fired and you do something wrong but they don't fire you then they lose all credibility in the future as everything will appear to be empty threats. How would that lack of following through on your word reverberate down to all the other young kids in the organization? It would render direction from the organization to players as irrelevant and disciple out the window. He's incredibly talented but he was warned and he chose not to listen.

I’d like to leave this issue alone but I could legit compile a zip file of irrefutable proof that he’s good friends with every POC he’s ever played with based on social media interactions, a multitude of former teammates referring to him as one of the best teammates they’ve ever had, etc lol even on Spittin Chiclets they said from asking around what they know is that all of his teammates present & former loved the guy. Btw if you look on Insta Tony clicked like on K’Andres latest pic and they still follow each other... lol

But in regards to Adam Herman, legitimately could there be a lawsuit here? That was straight up defamation that had real world consequences for Tony, the Rangers organization, etc. I’ve said it from day one but that guy and Blueshirt Banter are the definition of HACKS. They should be blacklisted as sources from this site

Why was he on his last chance and what were the other warnings for?

I mean from a PR and a maybe some team will trade for him perspective I get it, yet it has to be one or the other, either DeAngelo was so bad in some way they kicked him off the team, or he was not that bad and he should still be on the team.

I am more inclined to believe DeAngelo was that much of a problem in some way.

Question why he was on the last chance and figure that out is one thing, but IF he was notified of the last chance and still violated than there is nothing to debate. I mean even his agent hasn't fought against this, he's looking to help a move happen. If it was unjustified than his agent would be pulling an allan walsh

That Brooks article should be the final nail in the coffin for Pee Wee Herman and his bullshit “blog”. He should be given the Eklund treatment on HF as fake news. What a pathetic joke trying to literally stir the pot.

Wonder what type of future scoops Brisson traded Larry for this piece lol

“I’m not any of those things that are being said about me” Well gee whiz Tony if that’s the case, why are you about to be on your 4th NHL team ?

It's possible to be an asshole without being a racist asshole.
