Don’t get me wrong! You have to control your emotions and ADA was guilty of not.......but on this team which has been a vanilla joke for a few years now we need someone like him to rattle some cages. But instead he was fired. I BLAME IT ALL ON QUINN AND MANAGEMENT FOR NOT KEEPING IT IN HOUSE. Kreider and Zibanejad as leaders is a joke. Other teams laugh

but at least we are well spoken and politically correct.
I thought this was hockey?

So the team warns Tony that if he f***s up again he's going on waivers. Tony f***s up and goes on waivers. Yet it's the fault of Quinn and management for not being quiet about it? It's amazing the narratives some people will weave just to avoid personal responsibility.

Using an on the ice comparison. If Brendan Lemieux was chirping someone and got punched in the face and then the fight started who would get the instigator if called?

Smith got demoted then fought a teammate.
Yet he'll be on the 2nd line next week.

Bro.. There's something wrong going on here.

It's up to you if you'd like to recognize that or not

JD.. Who I'm a HUGE fan of needs to fix this and I'm sure he will in due time..

I would argue that the things he’s been accused of have nothing to do with his performance. It’s ok to have people rustle some feathers. All teams need it. Or you can just have Kreider and be vanilla

And this is not about Tony. That’s water under the bridge now. But the decision to jettison him while accepting absolute indifference and lackadaisical play from your supposed “ leaders” is a bad look and a horrible example for your young guys. It’s symptomatic of our franchise. We are a classy, soft laughingstock

The decision to part ways was due to him becoming an unnecessary distraction on the locker room. Nothing to do with anything elae

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I was encouraged from last night. Obviously, the defense played well, they gave up one. But I liked the effort and assertiveness away from the puck. They seemed decisive. The kids are showing more and more confidence. Great chances from the top 2 picks.

The results will come. Lafreniere and Kakko can't carry a team yet. The big boys have to step up and start pulling with everyone else.

I was critical of Quinn in the beginning but it seems like with some time the system is emerging, at least defensively. The kids are progressing. Maybe they finally got it, maybe Quinn adjusted his approach. But you can see things are clicking for Lafreniere, Kakko and Gauthier.
What I take out of this season so far is that they have been in almost every game. A fortuitous bounce here or there they have two or three more wins and things would look so much better.
Once this team learns how to win the one goal games they will be off to the races.

You really did not just liken this to what happened with DeAngelo, did you?

Not technologically savvy but here’s a tweet from a former Ranger. A star who actually played in the league

“After watching last night game against a bigger more physical well coached team , the Ranger organization needs to really understand moving forward that playing nice hockey with too many soft players is not going to take you deep in the playoffs ! Or in it”

Knowing the refs, probably Lemieux. But I get your point.

In all this I have to agree about our leadership core. It’s a joke that Zibanejad has been touted as our de facto captain for years. The guy doesn’t have an intense bone in his body, he is the prototype of the milquetoast Ranger of years past. He may have oodles of skill but he isn’t someone who lives & breathes hockey, he very often seems to not even give a f***. Kreider is the same way. Kreider & Mika are both big guys who are strong, but they wouldn’t stand up for their teammates and let them get face washed, pushed around, and don’t demand accountability from either the opponent or from their teammates. There is something rotten in our locker room, and I think a large part of it is from the cavity left by Hank & Staals departure.

First post here. Long time lurker

I’m surprised at what’s going on. The youngsters will take on the personality of their “leaders”. When Kreider and Zibanejad are those supposed guys were in trouble. JD is the boss and he’s an old school guy, but he fired a loud, obnoxious VERY TALENTED player in ADA and alllows Kreider and Zibanejad to be completely ineffective and to play with no passion.

Yestaerday as soon as the Trouba hit and scuffle happened, Kreider checked out. He was done. At one point Kakko was face washed and roughed up behind the Bruin net with Kreider 5 feet away.......he just watched. You think Marchand or Bergeron would have done the same if it was Pasta? Zibby is a soft, shell of a human. Yes very talented but a joke physically.
Yet the Rangers CHOOSE to have these guys lead while getting rid of ADA because he’s loud and obnoxious

last night ADA would have helped the PP and cracked some skulls

THE TEAM HAS TAKEN ON THE PERSONALITY OF THE CITY THEY ARE LOCATED IN AND OUR COUNTRY. ITS A JOKE AND EMBARRASSING

plus a weak college coach that doesn't have enough experience dealing with an NHL locker room to take control. Very different than managing a bunch of college kids. Gorton had to step in as the dean of sports and waive Tony. Overall just a weak staff covering for each other.
