I wasn't comparing them stylistically. I just think people are having shiny new toy syndrome with Barron, people should be cautious in assuming he is an upgrade over Howden.

If Barron can manage not being arguably the worst forward in the league playing significant minutes, I think we can safely say that he is an upgrade

gauthier has to prove he can be counted on. He’s getting an amazing opportunity here

chytil is the perfect center for Lafreniere more of a scorer than playmaker but he is great at gaining entries and dishing off. Lafreniere is going to be the playmaker on that line and get these guys pucks in good spots.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Barron will be an upgrade on Howden. This isn't a high bar to clear.

Regular season. But Traktor is almost a lock for the play offs. Depending on how they do, their season extends to March or even April

Well we'll find out soon. They are the same age, so if Barron can't even crack the lineup than it's safe to say he isn't. I know this board will chalk it up to Howden being DQ's golden child anyway. I see Barron as a fringe AHLer (Howden too fwiw), hope i'm wrong. Either way i'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

I’ve watched almost every game so far Traktor has played and I don’t think he is quite ready. Could be the injury he suffered this year IDK. I would hope he spends another year in KHL but I guess if he has an amazing final stretch to the KHL season maybe he gets full time shot here after KHL season.

Monday, Smith will play the right while paired with Jack Johnson. That is probably not a sustainable combination.

interestingly enough Quinn has smith and Johnson in separate groups so wonder if that plan already changed? I don’t know but you’d think they’d be in the same grouping

If the plan was to play DeAngelo at LHD, the Johnson signing keeps looking worse. Could have signed RHD like TVR or maybe even Vatanen instead for a 3rd pair RHD. Just so many mismatched puzzle pieces now.
