That's the situation with Miller last year."Hey listen, we REALLY need to get rid of these guys, I mean like ASAP...give us a 1st rounder."
I guess it never hurts to ask?
That says they could send players to the minors to remove bonuses, I know the Rangers will not do it, yet some other team would probably just start a couple players who have large possible bonuses in the minors.
Maybe the Rangers can trade their 22nd and next years 1st + more to get Stutzle/Byfield and Laf![]()
It's more about diversifying your lineup. Edge specifically said there will be roster changes that see players leave that put up more points than the guys who are their replacements with an eye to changing the mix and making the group harder to play against. Strome fits that narrative completely. So an ECL player will become a 70 point player next to Panarin?
Just a thought but if the NYR can't trade for a #2C how about they just dump Smith in the minors where he belongs and give his money to Strome on a 2 year deal?
I'm not the biggest Strome fan but he certainly brings more value to this current lineup than Smith.
Byfield may have serious boom potential but there’s also hella bust potential as well.I like Stutzle but LA has nothing that would really entice me to move that pick.
I feel for Byfield. Nice kid, but hes never going to live up to the hype.
How do you know he's nice?I like Stutzle but LA has nothing that would really entice me to move that pick.

He feels like a 16 year old Kreider who has all these tools but hasn't figured out how to use them all. It isn't a knock on him, it's just more of a statement that he needs time and direction to grow into his tools.I just think that in general, Gauthier needs to figure out the type of player he wants to be.
But as of right now, I agree with you that he has not shown Quinn what is needed to garner more playing time.
You can't stash the full-rate of contracts in the minors anymore.
Removing both has even more value.Just a thought but if the NYR can't trade for a #2C how about they just dump Smith in the minors where he belongs and give his money to Strome on a 2 year deal?

I hope you're not serious, why would anyone accept the other end of that trade?
Removing both has even more value.
I like byfield a lot and Agree he has a big ceiling but Laf is a phenomenal player who I still feel has even higher heights he can reach as far as potentialByfield may become the best player in this draft. If you had 1 and 3 in this draft, you're praying 2 takes Stutzle. Laf is the safe pick, but Byfield has a serious chance of being better than Laf
.
Isn't he on a 2-way deal?
So according to radio in Montreal, the Canadians have a deal in place to trade for a RW (Laine) from a western conference team (Jets), and the only way the deal falls apart is if a player Montreal really likes falls to them at 14
Wonder who Montreal is targeting at 14
But with that information and what is already known it looks like Laine for Domi + 14th ov +
