Honestly very impressed that Lafreniere doesn’t have a Twitter account, although that would probably be a nightmare for someone with that much hype.
Eh, Twitter is more for politicians these days...all the celebrities and athletes are on IG, like him.

That is not what I asked you. Or even close to it.

After you answer the actual question, please let me know how paying Strome prevents you form acquiring (trade or sign is same thing is it not?) a 70 point player.

Neither you nor I have any idea of what management believes. You clearly believe that he will not get that many. Fine. But even if he gets 50, who friggin' cares? There are extremely few second line centers that have that may points. And what money are they making?

My fantasy reconstruction? Was he or was he not trending to 70 points when the season got cut short? Should we look at what his points per game was?
Hope you can enjoy today. Take care.

Gauthier just needs to learn how to play both ways. No one is going to trust him with any mins until he figures that out. Love everything I see from that kid as soon as he passes the redline but I can’t blame quinn for not giving him more mins when he could care less what happens in the d zone. He could be a Chris Kreider if he figures it out. Really could. Maybe even stronger. But he really doesn’t want to learn to play both ways it’s going to be an issue for him
I just think that in general, Gauthier needs to figure out the type of player he wants to be.

But as of right now, I agree with you that he has not shown Quinn what is needed to garner more playing time.

The only thing I think makes any sense concerning not qualifying Strome is I think his ~3.2M qualifier whether signed or not would count against the cap.

Even if they were afraid of arbitration they could always retain up to half of whatever he received and trade him for something then. Strome at even ~5M with enough retained to get that to ~3M gets them an asset.

I don't think the Rangers should rush to get a 2C just to get a 2C.

Let things play out and wait for a great center to have a falling out with his team. Ryan O'Reilly would be perfect right now, but he was obviously traded while the Rangers were at the beginning of their rebuild.

thats not the competition we need. What role would he fill? Enforcer?

Grabner makes sense. Simmonds does not. Grabner can still skate and PK.

Would take Grabs over Simmonds in a heartbeat. However if we were guaranteed to get the Simmonds from 5 years ago I would gladly take that instead. But thats not the reality and you cant take that risk

Rangers are on the clock. (...) And we have a trade! New York Rangers trade their 1st overall draft pick in 2020, Anthony DeAngelo and Ryan Strome to Colorado Avalanche for Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar.

Seriously, something needs to happen soon. You can already see I am losing my mind.

I don’t see it with Brisson. At all. He can’t skate and I don’t like the factor with his dad being a mega agent within the sport.

Holloway is a fine pick at 22. He would not have been at the Rangers original slot though.
His skating is fine, bordering on good, and he'll do everything else well.

I don't know why his dad being an agent matters. Guys whose dads are coaches, GMs, and other team personnel are drafted all the time.

He'll come out of college in a few years and a lot of teams will be kicking themselves for passing on him.
