Pretty sure I was the first to want Gusev but w Panarin it doesn’t make much sense

Still have to move like 2 contracts out to sign RFAs

Buch 3.5 and Trouba 8 . DeAngelo I don’t even know how much ? Lemieux won’t cost more than 1.5

At the least Boyle's off puck play is useful, even the rough stuff. Brassard isn't contributing if he's not scoring. When he was younger he was average as a 3 zone center, now...not so much.

So if Boyle is signed everyone is prepared for Andersson in the AHL right ? I’m not good w that

My prediction:

Trouba 7y/7.6m AAV
Buchnevich: 2y/2.5m
DeAngelo: 1y/906k (QO)
Lemieux: 1y/886k (QO)

Have both non arb eligible players sign their qualifying offer which takes them to RFA status WITH arbitration eligibility next year so they can negotiate a bigger deal. Buchnevich has said he prefers a bridge deal over a long term contract

I have a feeling that 1RW, 2LW, and 2C will be occupied by Kakko, Kravstov and Chytil, in whichever configuration that results in the most comfort for those three players. Buchnevich was tried at LW by Quinn and that didn’t go so well.

GM isn’t doing his job if he’s not always trying to make the team better. Shedding cap is clearly the most important thing at the moment, but if they can somehow improve upon a Nieves and/or Mckegg along the way then I’m guessing most would be all for it. Especially if that player has potential deadline and locker room value.
Logic and reason....get out of here with that...

Fast was excellent with Kreider and Zib. Was one of the best lines in hockey for a time.

If Fast can do that again, and we can better spread our talent throughout the lineup, then I'm all for it

The guy is the perfect passenger for two talented linemates.

so is Names for that matter

I'll scream if I see Fast on the top line with the amount of wing talent we have
I hear ya. Look, I respect what Fast has done for this organization. He’s a heart and soul guy, he hustles every shift, he’s loved by his peers by always winning that end of the year award, but he’s just not talented for any top 9 role. For a game or a few shifts due to an injury or Quinn trying to jump start the team ok, but not long term. He just doesn’t have the offensive capabilities. Plus due to his style of play and the fact he’s a smaller player he’s going to wear out sooner rather than later ala Callahan

I'm surprised he didn't get more money and term. That's a great contract for Carolina.

Now that he is signed, hopefully the trade market will get going again.

Yeah, he was the one that was really left. The other options are much more in the way of niche pieces: Williams, Vanek, Maroon.

What is amazing to me is that Colorado added (2) solid depth forwards this off-season in Donskoi and Kadri and yet they STILL need more depth scoring.

Landeskog-Mackinnon-Rantanen
Donskoi-Kadri-Burakovsky
Calvert-Compher-Jost
Kamenev-Bellemare-Wilson
Nieto

This of vcurse assumes someone like Bowers or Kaut don't make the team, but in saying that, their depth scoring behind that top line is a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners apart from MAYBE Kadri.

All joking aside, they could really use a Kreider to solidify the top 6 and even a player like Names. Burakovsky on your 2nd line isnt a good thing.

Hopefully Sakic sees it in that way too and makes a push for Kreider.

Donskoi is a third liner at worst, he's had solid 2nd line production 3 of his 4 years in the league.
