He’s been linked to the Rangers and the Panthers and all the cities you listed, none of them the islanders play in, so what’s your point? He hasn’t been linked to the islanders since recently, that’s a fact. Maybe you can think that my simple logical deduction was denigration of a player, but I think it was actually pretty fair and simple. If reports are true, he’s passing up places he wants to play because there’s more money involved. You can judge that how you want to but don’t put words/thoughts in my mouth. We’re here to talk about hockey, not take personal shots at eachother.

Panarin is interested in playing near NYC or LA or Miami. He's not bent on playing exactly in the zip code where MSG is located. lmfao. NYI and NYR both offer him the ability to live around NYC. He's not "passing up" or forgoing his other criterias like quality of life in order to sign the biggest contract because playing for the Islanders affords him the same ability to enjoy the NYC lifestyle.

That’s fine, he can go. Either he fits in our plan or he doesn’t. I feel very comfortable with where the organization is at. We can be patient.
I agree. We've played Panarin exactly how I wanted to.

It would be extremely dumb not to kick the tires on him but you don't give him the Empire State Building either. It would have to be on terms that we decided like Shattenkirk was.

Varlamov is also not good so if they overpay mercenary Panarin and downgrade Lehner to Varlamov I’ll consider that a win.

Why are they not re-signing Lehner? He was a Vezina finalist. They were rumored to be in on Bob and now Varlamov.

Lou must have faith in Mitch Korn working his magic with whoever he brings in next.

He’s gonna love those trips from Manhattan out to the Island for practice

Varly hasn't exactly been a pillar of health...

Pretty big risk honestly.

Isles are definitely throwing him over 11M to convince him to play for that dump. Boy he will be regretting signing there

Because signing a guy for that much money is the exact opposite of patience.
See that’s where we disagree. It depends on the player, and I personally think it would be worthwhile to bring the specific guy on for up to $11.5. I brought up patience because it’s being reported that he’s asking for 12+. In my opinion, signing him for that much would be the wrong move and would show a lack of patience to wait for the right move.
