Panarin will settle for the Islanders if we choose to not meet his demands.
That goes for Florida too.

He’s been linked to the Rangers and the Panthers and all the cities you listed, none of them the islanders play in, so what’s your point? He hasn’t been linked to the islanders since recently, that’s a fact. Maybe you can think that my simple logical deduction was denigration of a player, but I think it was actually pretty fair and simple. If reports are true, he’s passing up places he wants to play because there’s more money involved. You can judge that how you want to but don’t put words/thoughts in my mouth. We’re here to talk about hockey, not take personal shots at eachother.
You wanted to sign him for 11 mill+, now we can “be patient”That’s fine, he can go. Either he fits in our plan or he doesn’t. I feel very comfortable with where the organization is at. We can be patient.
I agree. We've played Panarin exactly how I wanted to.That’s fine, he can go. Either he fits in our plan or he doesn’t. I feel very comfortable with where the organization is at. We can be patient.
Varlamov is also not good so if they overpay mercenary Panarin and downgrade Lehner to Varlamov I’ll consider that a win.
If he goes to the islanders he'll be extremely disappointed with the fan base and the arena. Enjoy NY but play for a 2nd tier organization? Nah I'm good.
11+ is less than he gets. I would bet on that. You wanted to sign him for 11 mill+, now we can “be patient”![]()
Yup. I’m on board up to $11.5M. If he requires more, he can walk. I don’t really see what’s so funny about that? You wanted to sign him for 11 mill+, now we can “be patient”![]()
He’s gonna love those trips from Manhattan out to the Island for practicePanarin is interested in playing near NYC or LA or Miami. He's not bent on playing exactly in the zip code where MSG is located. lmfao. NYI and NYR both offer him the ability to live around NYC. He's not "passing up" or forgoing his other criterias like quality of life in order to sign the biggest contract because playing for the Islanders affords him the same ability to enjoy the NYC lifestyle.
Why are they not re-signing Lehner? He was a Vezina finalist. They were rumored to be in on Bob and now Varlamov.
Lou must have faith in Mitch Korn working his magic with whoever he brings in next.
Because signing a guy for that much money is the exact opposite of patience.Yup. I’m on board up to $11.5M. If he requires more, he can walk. I don’t really see what’s so funny about that?
Isles are definitely throwing him over 11M to convince him to play for that dump. Boy he will be regretting playing there![]()
Scratch my last post.
I'll be surprised if he comes in at under 12 and a quarter.
I wouldn't be shocked if he gets 13 either.
See that’s where we disagree. It depends on the player, and I personally think it would be worthwhile to bring the specific guy on for up to $11.5. I brought up patience because it’s being reported that he’s asking for 12+. In my opinion, signing him for that much would be the wrong move and would show a lack of patience to wait for the right move.Because signing a guy for that much money is the exact opposite of patience.
Think he only has a year left on his KHL dealSorokin gotta come over first.
Yup, Barzal is licking his chops right now. He just needs to have an average season and he and his agent are gonna be demanding similar money for sure.Let them give him McDavid money....when barzal comes due they are gonna be in trouble.
No, I think it’s certainty. If he’s signing for 11.5 or less I’d have to imagine he would pick us over the Islanders. This reeks of a $12.5 million+ per year signing.I honestly wouldn't be surprised either.
