Also, with the Rangers not using the buyout window I think you can lock Panarin into the NYI.
Agreed 100. Bob’s “speculations” are usually pretty close to facts.
Obviously that would be great for us, but even from their point of view, I agree. That would be a lot of character and compete for that team. Something they were missing most of last season. They should find a way to add both guys. They’re still going to be short on secondary scoring and Pavelski just replaces Spezza’s cap hit pretty much.
If the Rangers aren’t leaking (we’re pretty sure of that) and we know the Islanders aren’t leaking, then this points a finger directly at the agent. Which means he is trying to create leverage.
I think what's getting lost in all this Panarin talk is one named Rob O'Gara. The rebuild is still on track.7 mill for a 35 year old good lord.
I love that we are rebuilding. I love that we are not the same old Rangers. I love looking at our roster and seeing a handful of problem contracts that will be gone in two years or less (maybe).
Wait till he sees where the players live and the team trains. Hope LIRR has a frequency program. If he goes to the islanders he'll be extremely disappointed with the fan base and the arena. Enjoy NY but play for a 2nd tier organization? Nah I'm good.
Where did he say that? His connects around the league are second to none.
Although he did call Kreider to Boston as (all but) done. He could be 0/2 for a week...
Young defense, old everywhere else. Bold move cotton.gifPavelski must be high on the top end talents in Benn, Seguin, Heiskanen, and Kingberg going forward. Dallas still have a lot of work to do to be the contending team that Pavelski thinks they are.

re McKenzie - I believe there was a draft day (morning) tweet suggesting Kreider to Boston was imminent.Where did he say that?

If Florida is out on Panarin (by most observations) then it’s the Islanders and the Rangers. Yes, I can see the agent trying to jack up the price to the Rangers. And I can see the Rangers listening...to a point. I grew up on Long Island and it’s a nice place to live but not for a 27 year old with money and his model aspiring fiancé. The agent is doing his job.
The agent also represents Kravtsov.
At the end of the day, if the Rangers took their best shot and didn’t get the player, I’ll live with that.

Obviously some trade possibilities, but it would essentially ruin our leverage if we needed the cap space that badly. You're probably right. Also, with the Rangers not using the buyout window I think you can lock Panarin into the NYI.
I was very very present on draft day as were a bunch of no life losers on this board. You must have read it from a Bab McKinzie.
He would likely be the only Islander living in Manhattan.Artemi will have to go through the reverse commute. The practice facility is where it's a chore, otherwise Barclays is a 15 minute train ride from downtown Manhattan.
The Isles still practice on the Island.
A bunch of Rangers did the reverse commute to Greenburgh on practice days too.
The Oilers want to make a move. Doesn’t sound like they are going to get much in free agency
