Wat.

Serious question: why not?

He's likely never going to be much of a goal scorer because he doesn't shoot at all. His defensive results so far have been poor although I know he as come with a reputation of being good there. And while the contract isn't that expensive I really don't like how he is signed for 6 years. Giving middle tier players really long term deals like that is how TB got into cap trouble because it makes it much harder to be flexible with your roster.

His junior numbers are extremely good but also certainly a function of playing with Marner/Tkachuk/Domi.

His contract is pretty much at the good 3rd liner level though. He’s pretty much at that level now as a 23 year old.

Nashville w retention seems like an obvious fit for me.
That's not a fit I have considered. They are no doubt the front runner for Duchene. Probably want to move turris. Kreider retained isn't a tough fit. Full price is a breeze if Turris is gone. What do think the return would be? They have some contracts to sort out for their own guys, but I'm curious to hear your thinking.

Most of the chatter seems like no Panarin for us.

I was pro-Panarin but I can live with it. Tank for Lafrieniere/Byfield/Lundell/whoever, the #1 center.

Then trade an asset or two for Seth Jones, the #1 D.

Rebuild over.

Tolvanen+2020 1st + conditional pick if he re-signs from a value standpoint seems fair to me. I'd probably use Tolvanen in another deal to get something else though, our FO doesn't seem too keen on one dimensional players.

I mean if I had my pick of prospects I'd ask for Tomasino but when was the last time you saw a kid get moved like 2 weeks after being drafted?

Probably no real surprise, but I'm pretty not into Tolvanen

Rangers wont get a player like Tolvanen and a 1st for Kreider.

I feel like that's a function of his (injury) limited time in the pros. I'd be very happy to acquire him as a prospective 2C with a shot at being much more.
