Because it makes no sense to conspire to sign with the same team (if that speculation is true) and not sign with the same team.

Well, Florida has been one of the teams he's been said to be interested in from the start to the point where they've been making moves all summer to accommodate signing him and Bobrovsky, and if they're not a hockey market, then it's not about being in a hockey market

I didn’t see anything mentioned about a conspiracy to sign with the same team. By “both” it looks like he was talking about JD and Panarin. Read his post on the last page it’s the fifth one down. I can’t read his mind, I can only interpret his written words.

He may have meant JD when he said "both" but he mentioned Bobrovsky by name when he talked about them hanging out together and using Florida to drive up the price. That would mean they're conspiring.

To do that and go to different teams would be extremely bizarre.

Panarin could sign with the Islanders bc they’re in Brooklyn so he might look at it as if he’s still playing in NYC.

Would be pretty wild to choose a team very low in the league attendance who splits time between two different arenas and will be out of the city before his contract runs out over playing for the Rangers at MSG. Oh well, we’ll see I guess.

I mean, they've been trying pretty hard. They apparently weren't far on money, they're just not willing to give him the term he wants
