I tend to believe the guys who come out of nowhere and post something that has a cut and dry vibe and they are just sharing it.In all seriousness though can one of the mods vet this guy and confirm if it’s legit or fake news?
But I was told adamantly we wouldnt even have interest in him by one particular poster....For those scoring at home.

If the money is similar and I don’t mean just on tax breaks I mean just similar offers. 7 and 11 or 12 from both parties regardless of taxes there’s no way anyone chooses the Panthers over the Rangers. That just doesn’t happen. I’ve said that for a year and am sticking to it.
Luckily for them, I don’t remember 95% of the specific debates on here. I can’t remember whos said what exactly anymore. But I was told adamantly we wouldnt even have interest in him by one particular poster....
Oh I remember. That poster made it a point to talk down to every single poster that was on the side of signing Panarin. He knew exactly what the Rangers were going to do before the offseason even started.Luckily for them, I don’t remember 95% of the specific debates on here. I can’t remember whos said what exactly anymore.
I just grade like
Totally get it
Mostly get it
Kinda get it
Getting there
Not there
Not getting there
Not worth my time
Some here speak in such absolutes and certainties that they forget what they are saying is just their opinion or own assumptions, and not even close to fact.Remember last week when someone told me that they’re was zero evidence we Were interested in him? Lol
Biggest disappointment this off-season is that none of Vesey, Names, Shatty, Smith or Staal have been traded (yet).

How are the Rangers paying Panarin $11M-$12M? Trouba is going to command about $8M per. Maybe it becomes more after Myers and Gardiner sign their new contracts. Trouba is one year away from group III. He has all of the leverage.
Trade Kreider? When is that happening? If the Rangers can't get a good deal for him this summer, trade him at the deadline. They didn't come close to any trades in Vancouver.
Buyout how many players? The players are buying out the player(s) they signed two years ago to sign another player this year. They never should signed both Shattenkirk and Smith.
Are the Rangers trading Buchnevich too? Carpiniello wrote Kreider and Buchnevich will be traded if they Panarin.
How much of a trade market is there for their other players?
The last thing the Rangers need is to add Panarin and then worry about moving out players in trades. The Rangers will get 20 cents on the dollar or may have to attach asset in that scenario. Teams will know the Rangers need to move money like Vegas and Toronto.
I think it was McKenzie's podcast from last week where he said there are like 30 bad contracts trying to be traded. Some of them are being offered for each other.
The Rangers will be forced to make so many moves to pay Panarin. All of these moves for the privilege of paying Panarin $77M-$84M with full NMC for the next 7 years.
Nobody is stopping the Rangers from meeting Panarin. The Yankees met with Manny.
Do not compare this to the Yankees. The process is also different. How are the Rangers paying Panarin $11M-$12M? Trouba is going to command about $8M per. Maybe it becomes more after Myers and Gardiner sign their new contracts. Trouba is one year away from group III. He has all of the leverage.

Sorry if this has been hashed out already , but what does a Smith buyout look like?

Boomer is a smart man and a true Rangers fan - wants whatever is best for the team.boomer briefly mentioned panarin this morning and much to my surprise he wants nothing to do with giving him 7 years, $77 mil...said learn from the past. would do 5 years. I don't disagree but I would have bet that boomer would be a 'give him whatever he wants' guy
If Panarin signs with Florida, he does not pay state income tax for the 41 home games.
So you could argue it's, at best 8.82% of half the base salary he would "save" in tax. 8.82% is the state income tax for NY. He would "save" $523,200. He however pays a much higher tax for every game in Canada. Florida plays 10 games in Canada this season. If he signs with the Rangers, it's only 7. Not really going into that much detail but it changes it a bit.
If the Rangers front-load the contract with 16.4m in the first 2 years and a 12m signing bonus, he gets 45m over the first 24 months. I am sure Florida can't match that much up front.
* I did not include the games in Tampa, Dallas, Nashville and Vegas since the Rangers play those as well.
