At this point it’s all out there anyway. I’m not worried about tips.

My one regret is that I couldn’t sign off on Greg and Steven breaking it. Because we literally talked about all this stuff yesterday. I would’ve loved for them to have been able to put that out there.

That would have been really cool but we respect the decision to keep it between us.

I was so confused what has been going on the past few pages with a bunch of people fighting nothing, so i checked the thread on incognito mode and realized what was going on. Ya'll should really invest in the "Ignore Member" feature. Just go to their profile, and click on "ignore". It'll save you a lot of headaches
I actually that anything had happened... I saw a couple posts calling someone an idiot or something but really I have so many damn people on ignore that I hardly see any of the controversial crap anymore. Funnily enough, I only ever bother using the ignore feature on HRNYR and not on the main boards

If the Rangers aren’t signing Kreider now, they most likely aren’t signing him a year from now either. So that makes him a potential TDL move.

I agree with Larry Brooks’ interpretation of the situation. I don’t think the Rangers want this lingering until the deadline.

Well then... if the Avs - for Ck and Oil - for Buch, both call up... they want to trade Kreider by the deadline anyway. Do they take that Kreider deal and shoot down Buch? Take Both? Roll the dice on CK in 6 months? I realize your not Gorton, but things could be interesting tomorrow. It could depend on whose available at 7 or 8.

Didn't Tomas Sandstrom score 40 as a Ranger virtually by himself then fail to capitalize on easy goals riding shotgun to both Gretzky and Lemiuex? There is always a risk factor even if a trade looks amazing on paper. Some people regard him as an all tools no tool box kind of player. Buch could b playing him out of that zone, but are we really sure? If we get 8 and some of the centers are dropping, let the Oilers figure it out.

You're confusing Tomas Sandstrom at least a bit with Niklas Sundstrom. Sandstrom was more of an 80's player for us. Sundstrom was the guy on Gretzky's wing in the late 90's.

Srry, I am like everyone else, in a hurry and 20 unread pages, what is all this stuff that now is out there and wasn’t before? Anyone care for a summery?

Just a thought, can’t we have an OP that carry over with the key reports? That way you could always check post 1 and see what happened.

Buchnevich is way better than his stats/production so far. Sometimes he disappears (usually when he is demoted to 4th line) . Really enjoy watching him play though. Can't say the same about Vesey. If we do trade him, I do get it, it does make sense for several reasons. But it will kind of suck. They better get a hell of a return for him.

Vesey is a dime a dozen bottom 6 winger. He can’t PP or PK.

Buchnevich? He feels like a Jan Hlavac... he’ll put up a few good years then slowly vanish.

Part of the issue with both Vesey and Buchnevich is their willingness to pay the price to get to the net. Vesey rarely scores goals further out than 15'--they're almost all in close. He has got to go there consistently. He is abysmal on the power play--the Rangers did work him into their penalty kill rotation last year--he was okay. If he's around this year I imagine he'll get more of that.

Buchnevich can score from a little further out than Vesey. He got away from perimeter areas in the second half of last year and started scoring goals. He needs to be selfish and shoot and attack the net. When he doesn't do that he's not a very good player.

I did they for a while and then a few months ago I sprung everyone from my little ignore prison. I'm glad I did that, actually. But I am starting to run out of patience with a few of the more obtuse posters here

These guys are unpaid posters on the board. You expect them to pull all-nighters on work nights so you don’t have to scroll through the pages?

You’re an enjoyable fella, but that’s asking a lot!

So, here is the rundown.

By now we’ve discussed or I’ve given enough hints to deduce:

The Rangers have had conversations with Buffalo and Edmonton involving Buch. Those talks have also included Names and Vesey, JP and Nylander. Nothing new to report tonight. The ball is with Edmonton and Buffalo.

The Rangers have talked to Toronto. It’s not Marner or Kadri. Nylander and Kapaned were mentioned. Nothing imminent.

As has long been suggested, the Coyotes and Avs have shown an interest in and engaged in talks about Kreider. The Avs have been more aggressive today. We’ll see how/if Arizona responds.

No one still wants Shatty as of 10:30 tonight. Par for the course.

The Rangers still would love to get in range of players they like in the draft. We’ve outlined combine interviews and guys they like, even if the board isn’t head over heels for some of those names.

We’ve talked about Vesey being viewed in a similar fashion to Pionk by some teams.

Speaking of Pionk, we talked about him on a recent pod. Talked about his departure being a matter of if and not when. Talked about him having higher value than the board realized. Now we’re talking about him being one of two components in a trade for Trouba.

Speaking of Trouba, we talked about the Rangers not chasing the price into the stratosphere. They obviously did not.

So, am I missing anything short of social security numbers and home addresses?

One question. JP??

@BKGooner is referring to how Sandstrom scored lots for the Rangers in the 80s and then was traded to LA and later Pittsburgh. But didn't see the same success despite playing - I guess - with Gretzky and Lemieux.

OKay, so if I’m Gorton and Colorado is offering Aksum and say, a 2nd this year for Kreider, I’m still making the Buchnevich deal with Edmonton/Buffalo for 7/8 so I can get the center I want. Adding Kaut to Kakko, Kravtsov and Chytil sets the Rangers up at top six wings for the foreseeable future.

Wish we could get Lawson Crouse out of Arizona somehow. Him and Lemieux in our bottom 6 would be

Kreider@50%+smaller piece for #14 and Crouse?

Doesn’t sound the Rangers are adding to Kreider, and are likely to get a 1st plus for him, unless they opt for Kaut plus.

Sundstrom was Gretzky’s wing here in the late 90s. Sandstrom was a Ranger in the 80s, but he was Gretzky’s wing in LA, not here. He also played in Pittsburgh on Lemieux’s wing. I think the poster was referring to Sandstrom.

I wonder if JD tries to help out and steps in on these discussions. It sounds like Gorton is having trouble sealing the deal.

No, it just sounds there are a lot of opportunities, and Gorton is being patient to get the most value. If Kaut and a 2nd is on the table as the best offer, maybe he wants Arizona to up their offer. Perhaps he wants Kaut and a 1st. Teams are calling him.

The interesting part to me is, the player I’d rather move is Kreider (more expensive and older), but the pick I’d rather get back is 7/8.

Gun to my head, if I have to pick (if I even have the choice), I deal Buch for 7/8, even if I have to package Vesey with him.

I want that top center.

Those two guys dont sniff the top 10
